Does anyone happen to know if the default suspension settings on the Pikes Peak model are the same as on the MTS1200 with the electronic suspension?

Should be, it's just a 1200 S Sport with fancy paint and some trim changes, not a different bike. :)

I have been seriously tempted to take my MTS12 out on the local MX track just to scare the sh*t out of the kids out there. Lucky for everyone the big-boy Conti TKC 80s aren't shipping yet. Do check out (as in ride) the other bikes in this class (1000cc+ adventure tourers) and you'll see what I'm talking about. The Duc is so light compared to the others it really does feel like a dirt bike next to the competition. If you armor it appropriately, there's no reason it can't go anywhere you point it.....and survive. I've taken mine on everything other than sand/mud (again, no knobbies = no joy on those surfaces) and single track with no issues.

Cindy said that Ducat took in to consideration that the bike was just recently out of warrantee. Plus I'm sure she knew the magic phrases that get things moving.

I'm pleasently surprised to hear good things about Wilson's. My experience with thier sales manager 6 years ago is a big part or why I don't own a Duc now. He was an older guy named Mike, and he opened a line of credit in my name without my permission after I told him I was going to wait for the 1100s.

I took a used 1200 for a long test ride up at A&S and am totally smitten. Good to know the local guys might be allright to deal with.

i think it is light when you compare it to the competition which is what I believe Sock's point to be. I've owned a GS, a Stelvio, and believe me, the MTS12 does in fact feel light to those bikes in relative terms.

if you want to experience what it's like to own a relatively heavy ADV bike, push a Stelvio, GSA or Tenere around your garage and get back to us.

i can´t take mine because i have super slicks on it........ :P
