Anyone waiting eagerly for the new Multistrada?

At least one source says it's directed squarely at the GS. And with an engine based on the 1098, it's going to make a lot of power. Will it sell like hotcakes, or fizzle like the current Multistrada?

I wouldn't say that I'm waiting eagerly, but I'll certainly take a look at it when it comes out. I'll be surprised if it makes me want to replace my GS though.

I'm thinking they're not aiming at the GS.. but more at the SMT.
Saw the "aiming at the GS" in several of the links posted.

Isn't the current MS even more of a streetbike than the GS?

Any details on how the new one differs?

I don't like the current gas tank/seat fiberglas combo unit....

The teaser site "implies" that it has some offroad capabilities. Tough to imagine a bike with that engine would be as tractable as the GS is offroad, though.

I'm not even remotely interested in a 4 valve. I love the simplicity of the 1100, great motor with bags of midrange. I don't need any more power. The Multi is a great bike but admittedly a bit odd looking (but not nearly odd as a GS)

This new Multi is not going to do it.
But it does have a possum-scraper, tho.

I'm really looking forward to this. A streetfighter is high on my list, but if I could get similar performance with a bit more suspension and fuel I'd be happy as a clam.

I was leaning wayyyyy over to the monster 1100..but as always I am waffling like a village inn. The sneak vid makes it look very narrow

I'm planning on selling the '09 1200 GS pig so I can get one.

You might think the MS is ugly...but in Dave at CanyonChaser's words:

"I've never owned a motorcycle that I've enjoyed more."

After riding my Monster 1100...there is no substitute for the joy of riding a Ducati...IMO.
