So, what's Ducati's plan for the launch of this bike? In showrooms and in moto journalists' hands at the same time?

I was hoping we'd be reading some early riding impressions before the bike becomes available to the public to build up some more momentum and hype.. the way Honda's tried to do with the VFR.. then let the design sink or swim on its own merits..

I haven't been following the new models closely enough this bike is amazing. For those who have sat on it how do the ergonomics compare to the old strada?

I was just at our local Ducati dealer and asked about the new Multi. He said March or more likely April. They didn't even have one at the motorcycle show last weekend.

The handlebars are similar. The windscreen feels quite different. The seat is better. The bike really reminded me F800GS as far as seating position goes.

This bike's gonna sell like hotcakes, I think.

But I hope Ducati has the Ohlins suspension sorted before they release the bike. Various magazines are ripping one of the Duc models (Streetfighter?) for having the crappiest Ohlins suspension setup ever.

Yeah, it wouldn't hurt them to get some ouside perspective of suspension expectations

But good news is they are at this very moment doing field testing in some (harsh) counties. That's all I'm allowed to say

I am pretty busy with golf and all, but I will make some time somehow, to volunteer for some beta testing, just send me the bike. I will even duct tape some foam on it so as to camo it!

I'm excited

I went to the Ducati booth three times at the Cleveland show to ogle and sit on the thing. If the reports from the press launch are good, I'm in.

If any of YFF manage to see one in person, would you please post a picture of you or better still the Ducati hot babe, sitting on the bike in the riding position and the photo is taken perpendicular to the front of the bike. I'd like to see how much coverage / wind protection the bike offers the rider.

I think Ducati could have done a better job of posting all sorts of pics of the bike on their site. I've heard there's a storage compartment in the cockpit and under the seat, an all digital dash, I'd like to see an overhead shot of the bike, the way BMW does when a new model is released, they post pics from all angles and the overhead shot allows you to see the rider's seat and pegs in relation to the side panels on this bike.. so far.. nothing but front and side and back pics..

Here is a link still up that has many shots of the perspectives your wanting to see. No direct over heads though.

http://www.ducatinewstoday.com/2009/...an-show-floor/

It does appear to have some leg protection but not much.

the red-head on the black one would easily qualify for the girls on bikes section of JM. hopefully last time a ducati will be ridden side-saddle....

Yeah, but what color? All my bikes are black. I can't imagine riding any other. But, if you buy a Ferrari - and you can only afford one in your life - don't you get a red one? If you buy a Ducati (the only one you'll probably buy in your life), don't you get a red one?
