Great pic. Gives a whole new perspective on the new Multi's (loveable) ugliness.

Other pic looked good too. Love that relaxed knee bend.

I'm sure more people would be put off if it had a shaft than a chain. Most motorcyclist associate shafts with cars, not bikes, and certainly not fun bikes.

Can you name one performance or race motorcycle that has shaft drive?

Not sure if you want to call the new VFR a performance motorcycle, it does have 170HP and a shaft drive. and could not doubt be ridden anywhere the new Multistrada could be ridden.

Anybody going to be at Alice's Restaurant on Sunday? Might get to see one in person.

Saw it today at the dealer. Touring model in white. God, i want to ride this bike so bad. The detail is superb, the riding position perfect for my "robust" 5ft 10in frame. The bike had a host of Ducati performance parts. Low seat, touring screen and luggage. Despite the pre production nature of the bike the quality looked great. All in all it looks to be a blinder. Dealer says their is a lot of interest. Has sold a fair few. I might be tempted for 2011..

Lovely pic, gives another interesting perspective, thanks for posting.

First proper view I've seen of that extendible front mudguard/fender when extended.

Looking at it, it is hard to believe we've become such slaves to fashion as to be considered ripe targets for this sad joke.

For heaven's sake, the mudguard when extended remains abbreviated. Quite obviously the tyre will still plaster the motor with gunk.

And what do poor buyers get in return for putting up with this?

Umm, well ... the chance to shorten the mudguard still futher so that it offers no protection at all for the motor or radiator.

Wow! Cool, huh?

I know some people who know some people. Seriously, unless the rain makes them decide to take another bike. It should be up there late morning. That's at the junction of highway 84 and 35 in Woodside CA.

I'm pretty sure England's Pyramid Plastics, will design up a "Fenda Extender" to deal with this issue...

Along with the with the "leaked" spy shots that Ducati engaged in, having a MS1200 show up prematurely at California's Alice's Restaurant, would be a shrewd publicity stunt for the US market ! Bring it on !!!

The mudguard. Yup, it's short. After market will sort it out no doubt.
