Comfort is a matter of perspective. The BMW K bikes are very comfortable to me. Fit me like a glove. Besides, you said "performance" and i'd love to see you argue that a bike that puts down about 160 horse ain't "performance"

In the end, what does it matter? Diversity in the offerings of MC companies can only benefit us riders.

It has to stay reasonably clean.

So you've ridden the VFR1200 and MS1200? Wow, I'm impressed

Very good pic, Paul.

My 11-year old son is a major Ducati fan. I've had to plaster his bedroom wall with posters of the 999, 916, Desmo, Hyper, et al. He keeps asking me why I don't get a Ducati; I just open my wallet, look inside, and cringe

Those numbers look great. I did note, though, that the bhp side of the graph repeats 160 twice rather than the upper saying 180. Those fellers need to fix their graph.

I'd say that it is a Ducati supplied chart, since the numbers exactly match Ducati's (crank) HP numbers for the 2 modes.

Now, how botched the double 160 figure ? My guess is Ducati since they did the km - miles conversion backward on the first Hypermotards odometers .

Have my doubts about the authenticity of that curve for the 1198. Where does it go below 5K? Unless it flattens out dramatically, would be making about 35hp @ 4000rpm, which seems ridiculously low.

Still, nice numbers for the Multi, even if they're fudged a bit. 95hp @6000rpm ain't too shabby. Something to chew on for those who thought the current desmodue 1100 engine would be torquier. That one maxes out at 95hp - @7750.

Edit: blurry low-res curve posted for the 1198s on Ducati.com here (click 'engine', then 'power and torque curves') seems to show the bike making 65hp @ 5000rpm, which makes more sense to me.

That would put it about 10hp behind the Multi 1200 at those revs, or about 14 per cent. Curves here show it 25hp behind @5000, or 33 pc. Which I don't find very credible.

It was raining too hard. So far as photos, as much as I'd like to post some so you would know how important I am, I was advised that it wouldn't be in the best interest of a number of people including me.

I'm going to ride the new Multi next week, if there's anything specifically you guys would like me to report back on, please let me know here or via PM. And BTW I am a former MTS 1000S DS owner, my favorite Ducati ever, so I'm real excited about it.
