I'm almost ashamed to admit that I was just kidding
I have a "Wee" budget for motorcycles

Can you get me one? I'll give you any organ you need..

NB. All organs may be faulty due to vile alcohol poisoning.

Virtually sold out in the UK, apparently. Order now for mid-summer delivery, at best.

Nice offer, gasgaseffinfast. I'd enjoy reading about how well the new suspension works, partic if you will ride the S model. My guess is there will be enough firmness in the damping for sports riding. But wondering how smooth the ride will be in touring mode.

Anything you had to say about the low-end flexibility of the motor would be interesting, too.

I'm hoping we get to ride both versions, and I too am very interested in the low end flexibility of the motor. I always preferred the air cooled Ducati motors for their character on the street, thought the 4 valves were great for going fast. This will be the biggest question on my mind when I throw my leg over the bike....

I've always liked em both for character. Tho the desmodues have a certain something that seems to work on the longer haul.

With low-rev punch tho, I've believed the four-valve head has a theoretical advantage from the twin intake flows improving mixture homogeneity - a long word for getting the fuel and air to combine evenly before the spark hits.

Maybe I got sold on Suzuki's Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber hype in the 80s - which they seemed to make work in the real world.

Ducati has taken a different route with the short valve overlap design. I am guessing it takes advantage of steep desmo cam profiles.

But if you are on a press launch, I hope they let you loose somewhere bumpy. With 170mm front and rear, there is the possibility of benchmark ride quality. But only if they've sorted the valving on those dampers.

With all today's excitement about Yamaha's Super Tenere GS competitor...

... the MS1200's light weight, 50/48mm usd front forks, simplistic chain drive and high output motor, it easily appears Ducati's got a home run on their hands ! Different segments, yes, but the pared to the bone Multistrada is such a lightweight high performance alternative, compared to these other overweight buffalos...

Bring on March's road reports !

Big difference in bikes, I like the light weight of the Duc and lots of other things also.

Big PLUS, it is actually coming to the U.S.

This would be a great time to be working as a magazine tester!

Nice video, enjoyed watching it as it gave me a better perspective and look of this new Duc. The only thing it does is make my Tiger uneasy, she thinks that she might be dethroned. Will see what she looks like in the flesh sort of speak at middle of the year when they say it will be available.

Salut

Paul Thompson, how about you or another tech savy inmate, transferring the recently posted photos of a black MS1200S, from Motomotive1 over on Ducati.ms photo thread of Feb.23 on page 10.

These are IMO the most striking, good quality photos yet posted !...
