2:16 pm.
I'll just take a 45 min nap.
Set the alarm here for 3pm and I'll be good.

4:55pm.
Oh. woops.

Last two mornings up at 4am with about 4 hours of sleep per night I was exhausted.
My plan for an afternoon ride now seemed a little shot, but I still had to go check my mail and that would give me at least an hour on the bike. Why not.

Downside of riding out to the coast at that time is the sun right in your eyes.........

I get out to Tomales, and what do I see?
My old MBZ.
Sold it in 06 and still see it lurking around.
Jason has made this his proper 'ranch rig'.

Soooooo........
Now about 7ish, I decide to take the long cut home......
Down to Pt Reyes via 1........

Totally can't tell if this thing went off.........
apparently it did.......

Take THAT crow!!!

I don't think he's going to make it.
I'm not a real vet, I just play one on tv.

Total Noob here, I've been lurking off and on for about a week. I skimmed through your thread, Darth, and when I saw the camera you've been using for the photo's here I had to jump in with the exchange between Irving Penn and Earnest Hemingway. When they were introduced, Hemingway said to Penn, "Oh yeah, I've seen some of your pictures, you must have a very good camera."

Penn didn't miss a beat and replied, "And I've read a couple of your stories, you must have a very good typewriter."

I've enjoyed your photos, I'm pretty sure I've looked at every one of them. We ride many of the same roads. In fact I'm heading into Monterey tomorrow and over Tioga next Saturday. Stay near Lee Vining Saturday night then 108 to Angels Camp on Sunday. Monday we'll make a run back to the heart of the San Joaquin valley and all the delights it holds. If you come up on a couple of old guys and their wives, one on a Goldwing, the other on a gray Suzuki, don't let the tiger hurt us, we're all old and harmless.

Having an absolute tantrum on the side of the road is a healthy thing every now and then!

I'm so happy I wasn't drinking anything when this picture rolled into view!

Your strong spirit and sense of humor won't allow you to be down too long, and we are all pulling for you. Darth Peach, you're the best!

That's some funny stuff

That last picture made me laugh out loud. I feel your pain, but that was some funny stuff.
Your thread is very inspiring. I just stopped on the boat to check my mail before going back out to continue to get the bike ready for the up coming trip. Now I'm heading out with a big smile and new vigor for my task at hand.
Thanks,
capt Zeek

+1 on the cracking up comment.....I almost tossed my coffee this morning when I scanned down and saw the pic above

Sometimes a picture DOES represent a thousand words..........funny and sad all at the same time......and, in this case, many of them would likely be profane!!.....it's does royally SUCK that you need the surgical tweaking , but try to see past it.....it'll also yield YEARS of "pain free" riding in the future.....

Looks to me like you're about to be mauled by that tiger!

Hope all goes well and you have a speedy recovery, I may be half way around the world but your sense of humour and ability to laugh in the face of adversity makes me smile every day

btw - Jandals / Thongs (flipflops) are beachwear in this part of the world
