birthday ride 2011

Night #2 at Mono Lake.

Now it's the full moon proper.
As I'm sitting at the Mobil station in Lee Vinning warming up, I realize the moon has probably already started to rise.
I miss the shot I had pictured in my mind, but still plenty of time to try to get some cool pics.

One thing I did not take in to consideration was wind.
Now this big clunky tripod I've been lugging around all day is proving to be somewhat useless.
Especially with the big camera.

So here I sit in the dark again, replaying all the bad scenes in all the bad movies I've ever seen
and now to add to the drama in my head, wind.
Not just a normal wind either, it seems to be moving everything on the ground around me
creating the sound illusion of sasquatch sneaking up on me.

Sasquatch in the form of a drifting piece of paper......

Of many shots, only a few were somewhat clear.
Enjoy.
at the sake of my sanity.

Finally figured out the multi quote

Thanks guys.
I love that shot too.
I did one take of that each night and was very pleased.

It made sitting out there heebied out all the more worth while.
Both night bike shots were done with the little gorilla pod on the ground.
It was a borrowd camera or it would have been ON the ground

You do, and you're welcome!

The fee for a park pass was incredibly cheap on the MC.
I think it was only $12 and good for several days.
It's half that much just for one trip across the Golden Gate Bridge and it's really hard to stop and feed the squirrels there….

$80 for an annual pass. It's good at all the National Parks. It's been worth it for me. Sadly, it won't be too long 'til I'ml eligible for the lifetime pass for $10.

B&W photos of landscapes are always cool in my opinion.
