Total buzzkill.
I'd take the tour buses over the oncoming cement truck that was using my lane on a blind corner when I was there in 2008. Clipped my left pannier, no injuries other than us each losing a year or two from fear.

Thanks!

Sleep.
I've learned that sleep is really important.

Merits of the metric system

When I turned 50 I was still trying to figure things out........that was when I converted to the metric system, I am now 16.6 celcius and haven't got it figured out yet. I think that about the time I find the answer, the question changes!!!!!!
Great pics......Thanks for letting me see through your eyes.....

DP,
Having enjoyed your unique commentary and creative gifted eye for so long it's time I forwarded a big "Thank You" along with belated "Happy Birthday" wishes.
Living in the B.C. interior I am pulling my camera out of the tank bags often but rarely achieve the splendid results that you do.
It is a pleasure to observe passion for so many aspects of adventure motorcycle travel. Those of us who have the means and opportunity are truly blessed.
Keep it going Peach. Thanks again for sharing.

Thanks!
I have fun taking the pictures and rolling around.
Although, I am like a cat walking through a puddle of peanutbutter with any camera too technical.
I found that with the Lumix, after waiting for a solid 2 minutes at night for the picture and load, a misbump of the backscreen and it deletes the image
I think I'd fare well with just a childproof piece of glass in a shoebox with a curtain for the shutter.

Sadly, means and opportunity don't seem to swim in the same pool the majority of the time.

birthday ride 2011 cont'd

Bodie.
I was here last year.
Having already photographed much of the town, I didn't feel a strong pull to wander through again or leave my bike unattended for too long.
And after I heard that I could ride the Bodie rd to the Nevada state line, there was a new focus.

Here's a different view from last year in the few moments I did spend 'in town' this trip..

I believe this is some sort of potent drink somewhere...

There was a lot of heavey equimpent around.
The thing that impressed me the most, was how far back in from current civilized society Bodie is
and how
they got all of this here.
It's amazing.

I used to live very near there and visited many times(in the late 60's to early 70's) and worked with a guy who claimed to be the last child born in Bodie.
Very strange dude...

Great pics Peach! I really enjoy your art.

Odd claim to have for sure.
