Merry Christmas

Peach, While on a summer trip to Arkansas from Puget Sound the thought popped into my head "I need a shot of me doing the Peach on this trip." Not two minutes later I was first in line at a road construction stop. I asked the flagger to take a picture. The pic was taken on hwy 7 in northern Arkansas not too far from Jasper. Have a great Holiday.

Now that's the spirit.
I found it brings everyone out of their shell when you hand a total stranger your camera (and ask them to take a totally ridiculous picture)

I've never gotten a 'no' and have always gotten some sort of smile.
The guy I handed my phone to to take the stop sign pic below had no idea how to use the Iphone.
A quick 3 second visual tutorial and some mild encouragement and the rest was history.
He didn't speak any English and my Spanish has 'gringa' written all over it,
so there was about 10 min of awkwardness after the shot,
but smiling nonetheless.

Some of the shots I get help with, but most of them I don't.
It pushes the creative line when you have to figure out how to get the picture you want without help.
Here I was using a backup camera and a broken tripod and rock.
Set the timer and ran back to the bike.
Was tricky because I was going uphill on loose gravel with poor traction and only wanted to do one take.
I wanted to be quick, but had to keep in mind not to spin the rear tire as dropping the bike here was not an option.

might have made a funny pic though

Def fun to get others involved, though
Like this one here,
No tripod,
lots of tourists,
2 seconds to get the shot I want & no time to set it up.
I handed the camera to GT and told him 'now just shoot straight up at me, you may think I'm going to run over you, but I won't'

usually famous last words...

Great little tidbits of process there Peach! (Awesome as usual!)

Your luck with random strangers is as good as in-motion one-handed! (mine isn't!)

Have a Merry Christmas!

I too enjoy the tid bits of how you have set up some of your shots. I keep thinking back on the one where you are doing a handstand and still wondering how you pulled that off. I'm impressed with anyone that can do a handstand to start with but in full riding gear including helmet and getting a picture of it too boot. WOW!

Merry Christmas. I hope you have a good one.

It is no secret that I love photography.
And riding motorcycles.
And animals.

I recently added 2 little brother kittens to the herd.

I, like many others I assume, took the hook while at local Petco.
With structure, I went in about a month ago with the sole purpose of buying fish food for diego,
when from the side something cute and furry and trapped behind a plexiglass wall embedded with breathing holes caught my attention.

Just what I need.
A cat.

I was on my motorcycle anyway and all the plexitrapped animals were for adoption from the local pound.
Now 8:30 pm, shelter closed and all,
I had at least 12+ hours to think this over and to make an irrational decision.

Oh, and the 'bio' on the wall stated that they (the shelter) were hoping to adopt the 'brothers' (now learning that there were 2 cats, not just one very crafty cat) out together since they had already been together for 6 mos.

Anyway, fast forward to me hauling 2 cats home the day after thanksgiving.

and to 2 cats escaping from their travel boxes on the way home.

last (maybe) hijack of my own thread, specifically to bring some holiday cheer……
As you can maybe tell, the cats hate it here..

Their own nice leather couch to make in to suede..

Nothing to play with……

Nothing to drink from….

No where to sleep…..

And nowhere to run around…

And finally,
From my merry house to yours…..

a photo session.

aka how I lost most of my forearm skin…
