When you are ready let me know and we can bump your new Tiger 800 by 20 ponies. (16 with just slip-ons) Congrats on the new bike. IMO it is the best All Purpose bike EVER!

I went to the motorcycle museum in Solvang last week. I saw this and realized that my Tiger XC is 60 years younger...

Sighting!
Peach, I saw you yesterday! My wife and I were waiting in a particular line and I saw this 1050 accompanied by a cruiser and a couple of clues made me do a double take. I said "that's the Darth Peach!" and my wife, not being an ADV reader, got a bit of an explanation. Visiting this area from Arkansas.

Well, just back from a 9 day trip to Canada on the 1050.
Give me a few days to organize pics and thoughts, but I'll leave you with a few of the things I learned: A fried stator on day 2 of a trip in the middle of eastern Oregon is not a great thing, the kindness of strangers is overwhelming, the k1200 has an amazing headlight spread, always carry jumper leads and Vancouver Island still has some of the best sunrises. ![]() More to come………. |

Ahh the curse of the fried stator strikes again. Happened to my old 1050 a few months after selling it. The German aftermarket replacements don't do a good job according to the new owner. He went with a Triumph part in the end.

Hello DP - Haven't stopped in for quite awhile. I am surprised you bought a new bike! I almost bought one of those too. But my son told me to go smaller yet. I was coming off of an old KTM 950 I've ridden the continent with.
So I bought this: ![]() My favorite thing to do is buy a new motorcycle -P
