eagle is a score which is two less than par on a hole. ex: par 5, score a 3, it's an eagle.
Intellectually I know what an eagle is. My game has never seen an eagle.

Learn what is a good thing Golf is a wonderful game that relies on coordination and skill. Both are things you are lacking in.

hint : work on the driver and long irons

for the non-golfers out there, the par 5's are easiest to eagle. the par 4's are tough ones. and damn the par 3's. I've never eagled one of those

So tell me, I've had one lesson and went to the driving range today (damn, got a bruise on the outside edge of my left palm, and skinned my right hand ring finger and left index finger ) - 6-iron going about 140 - 150 yds, that short or about right?

Halfway through my 150 balls, I remembered the pro telling me how to swing better - hurrah, only 5 more slices, 2 more hooks

The golf swing is not a natural motion, best learned when young. It is best to rely on basic physical principals. The club has to be on line with the intended target to impart maximum energy to the ball. If the swing path or club angle are not correct, loss of distance and direction will result.

dammit, we heard the damn birds, got 'em moving towards us, but could call 'em close enough. then they went quiet. one of those turkey hunting days. back to golf.

140 to 150 is an 9 iron (142yds) to 8 iron (153yds) for me. what's more important is to know YOUR distances, no matter what the club. get to the point where you know the distances you hit for each club.

as for your hands hurting, you're gripping the club too tight. relax the hands a little. Sam Snead use to say hold the club with the pressure like you're holding a baby bird. strong enough to keep him, but not enough to kill 'em.

I'd like to see Lefty get it. he's over due for a big one. but, he's known to go wild with that driver and then take risks. and Els is only 3 back.

He was hitting it well today nice power fade or dead strait. His swing was definatly in control. BTW 0 bogies in last 32 holes.
