N GA- Wolfpen Gap Country Store Asking for Help

If you've stayed at TWO (now known as Two Wheels of Suches) or spent much time riding the area around Suches, GA, you've likely purchased gas, food, or a T-shirt at the Wolfpen Gap Country Store (formerly known as "Dale's"). It's a very motorcycle-friendly store and seems to be operated by good people.

Apparently the current owners are struggling to keep the place going and have started a "Go Fund Me" campaign to raise enough case to replenish their fuel tanks so they can keep the store open:

Consider throwing a few bucks their way.

It would be a shame to see them go under. I always buy something there when I'm in the area.

Yeah. They even added high octane corn-free gas at the request of the riders.

Pretty cool.

Time to throw a few bones their way.

I always enjoy going to Wolfpen Gap Country Store for supplies and ethanol-free gas when I'm at TWoS. They are one of the only gas stations I know of that will still let you pump before you pay. I sure hope they are successful with their efforts and I look forward to buying gas from them again soon.

I fail to understand why the public should support a poorly ran business. Sorry.
Just don't get it.

Bingo. That's the thoughts of some of that frequent the area. I know when I went in there, they had a piss poor selection of anything in the store, and a couple of mangy mutts walking in and out of the store with open sores. Obviously there's some mismanagement of funds going on there.

Just saw them on the news. They picked up a thru-hiker off of the AT and gave him a place to stay. Guess the weather caught him by surprise. I didn't know they have a hostel upstairs for hikers. Nice folks....

They had fuel at the store a couple weekends ago. I don't know the people, but the lady behind the counter was nice and very excited to have the fuel for sale.
This area needs a store...I hope it survives. It seems like one could really make this place work as a mountain setting general store with a slant for catering to motorcycles, cyclists, hikers, locals, people with cabins, etc. But you have to make it on 8 months of opportunity...

I hope it survives too, I only make it up to Suches once or twice a yr these days but I give that place some business every time I'm there, nice friendly people running the store, that was the case back when it was Dale's too.

But here's the deal...they're the only game in town with absolutely no competition for miles, and if ya can't make it under those conditions, then podnuh, ya prolly oughta find something else to do. Yeah I know winter's a lean time up there, but they do some serious business in the summer and fall, you'd think they could at least keep the lights on thru the winter. Or just shut it down in the winter if there's not enough business to make it worthwhile...all the motorcycle-specific businesses in GA/TN/NC--and there are a bunch of 'em--manage to make it with that "8 months of opportunity."

I've never known them to actually have fuel when I've stopped in there, which can be disappointing when there isn't another station for what, twenty miles in each direction?

Next closest gas I know of is Sunrise Grocery on Hwy 129 south of Blairsville, that's about 13 mi. from Suches. If ya stay on 60, it's like ya said, 20 mi. up to Morganton or 20 mi. down to Dahlonega. If that ain't having the market cornered, I don't know what is...
