I thought I had one of the first US bikes. I bet 99500-99503 are competition bikes that were used on Pikes Peak by Max BMW and friends.

It's not being sold in the USA so your argument is invalid.

It's about 20k Euro new.

I don't know about "invalid", since there are five MMs I know of with asking prices of $13K USD. And none are selling.

But cost and value are always in the eye of the buyer.

after the grumpy old goat description

For $13K, you could be livin' the dream, what are you waitin for...?

Let's see...he bought it for 20k...selling it for 14...room to bargain and what not...makes sense to me. Just substitute Euro for Dollar and it's the same thing. You can't just convert Euro to Dollar and say "it's too much" without taking into account that the bike is sold in Europe. On the other hand, if you found a MM for nine thousand Euro (13k USD), let me know cause i'm all over it.

Fitted the touratech rack today. Nice kit. I'll have to lower the exhaust slightly, but I haven't sorted out the details yet.

I'm noting that all of the US market VINs listed here are below 99550.

And I don't believe there are any listed that have ABS.

Does this imply (and I could be way way off base here) that there might be additional MMs available, or the last 50 or so that have ABS???

Inquiring minds want to know.

Early built bikes did not have ABS available. This includes the bikes that were available in Europe during spring and summer of 2007. My bike was built in 05/07 and took delivery in Oct 2007 as a 2008 model. Bikes that came to the states after the initial shipment in the fall of 2007 had ABS available.

Lovely shots, and lovely rides too, done all those roads in the Z8, and love them!!

My MM is still down and out from being hit by a mad cyclist, it takes a really, really long time to get spares for these bikes, so don't let anything happen to yours! I'm excited to see how it'll be when I get it back with the new suspension from Racetech and saddle from Renzaco, it should be much better, but I'm not sure it'll be better than the R1200S I just snagged. That is such an incredible bike, I really love it, it handles so incredibly well!
