Yes, but you have to hand over your proper bike, which you are clearly not worthy of. And I'm not even going to call you a hipster. You bloody hipster.

Damn.

A little tale of travels. Coming back from Chicago I hit several Rustic roads in the rain. It was a drab day but I was trucking along doing some twisties and came around a corner and hit the front brakes as I normally do not carrying to much speed but wanted to scrub a little not knowing what lie on the oter side, when my brake lever went to the handlebar.

I instenctivally I pumped it to try and build pressure and down shifted to pull a few miles per hour off, and still no front brake. I stopped the bike and there was brake fluid all over the left leg. Great, it's raining, I'm 300 miles from home and it is about to get dark and I am in the middle of knowwhere. Guess I'll have to take it easy and ride it home. I stopped in Tomah Wi since it was late and figured I would check the bike in the morning.

Sure looks like a small leak so I stopped at the gas station for some fluid and filled it up hoping I would have maybe a one shot if a deer ran out. And it surprising worked for a one shot deal, filled it up again and took off.

Anywho,

I get home put it in the stand after ordering some new brake lines (upper and both lowers) braided. (BTW every 4 years with ABS your suppoosed to replace per the BMW shop and manual. Wish I would of read that last year when the upper blew on me, I don't very much like the feeling of no brakes.) And I find the culpret. It wasn't the flex lines at all I had somehow managed to wear a small hole in the hard pipe that connects the two flex lines by the fork brace. Right where BMW wrapped it with some plastic to protect it.

Moral if you have a gs check the plastic wrapping on the hard pipe between the two flex lines not make sure you don't have any wear marks or you two might be without front brakes.

All is well and on the KLR in the rain today without rain pants, No jim I did not piss myself

Carry on to your scooter talk.

BMW motorcycles...

...now with matching front and rear leaks!

By the way, what's the over/under on BMW final drive leaks during the IBR?

Holy crap, Bob! Glad you are okay (once again). Where did you order your braided lines from? I really need to replace mine & it sounds like an upgrade from the stock rubber ones would be a wise move.

Kari,

Got them from leo south they are a dealer for speigler braided lines, and I will let you know how they work out after I install them.

I have to go to Milwaukee this weekend and hope to have them on Thursday night or Friday, ride report coming Tuesday after my interview in Milwaukee Monday. But check out the tube that goes across the two flex lines I am sure it has to be the same on the rs as the gs and make sure there is no rubbing. that is where mine had the issue. Check where BMW installed the abrasion resistant plastic.

How about an over/under for the Team Lyle Rally? Mine started leaking a little before the rally and was noticeably worse during the rally. Thankfully, brakes worked and we made it back. She's resting comfortably in the garage for now.

@ Bob--Holy crap! Glad to hear that you made it home safe and sound.

I had my rear shock replaced already. Leaky. Huzza for warranty.

Tires are also cracked, squared, and needing to be replaced. But that's my own damn fault.

We ready for a tire changing party?

I need to order front and rear tires for the FZ6 in the next 500 miles or so, and I'd really rather not spend $100 I don't have getting them installed.
