So, uh, tirechangeapalooza now includes replacing my chain and sprockets.

These last thousand miles have been their death march, I'm afraid.

Yeah going by what you said in some other thread, you need to stop riding that, you sound like you are on the verge of snappage. No fun. Get that chain and sprox swapped out asap.

I just spec'd out what I need from Dennis Kirk, gonna run up there and get the chain, sprockets, and tires sometime this week. I didn't see better prices anywhere else.

I've always had good luck pricewise on that stuff from Dennis Kirk.

Some people report better prices from motorcycle superstore etc on occassion, but I've never been able to beat DK pricing, even with the 5 dollar per tyre shipping cost.

Pick up a tire for me too?
I need a rear BMW tire. I should have had Leo's put one on in C/Falls.

Tell me what you want, glad to pick one up.

I think I'm going with BT023s. I liked the 021 and the set is $230.

Get Bent had the gnarliest schedule, I figured I'd get my shit in order and then wait for his schedule to clear up.

This chain thing presents some challenges, such as removal of the old one. Getting a new one with a clip style link, but that old one has to come off somehow...

Like with a chain removal tool in my tool box. And if that does not work there is always a saws all, or torch.

I have a chain splitting / rivetting tool. I'm sure others do as well.

I say pick a day and have at. I got the gsm tires changed but the KLR needs eventual love. My to list for that is:

Chain
sprockets
lube swingarm

--secondary tasks
tires changed
progressive springs

on a side note I am considering trying that ride-on goop in the tubes. Thoughts?
