I was only in Cub Scouts for 1 year. Later in life I realized that our tour of a local police station was an excuse to get our fingerprints on file.

Mine would still not be on file if not for that, as far as I know...

I made it as far as Webelos......I think the name destroyed any interest in further involvement. I do know how to light things on fire though. I think the last project we did was a coat rack shaped like a fish, or an owl or something like that. carved out of pine with a coping saw and a hand rasp, ugly it was. I do have an old tin filled with my cub scout pins somewhere. I do remember the pinewood derby cars were fun. The graphite on the axles was the key

Perhaps we should have an ADV version - call it the morningwood derby or something similarly appropriate. I could finally have a use for the Dremel.

I think the ADV version would feature a 20-30 ft high ramp, made from scrap 2x4's and OSB. Inmates would use rolling chassis' to ride down the ramp and the one who rolls the farthest/doesn't crash would be the winner. If rolling chassis could not be found, we would remove engines from inmates bikes, I am thinking we could start with Travis's bikes, they've all been down already, sometimes even with Travis on them.
As a matter of fact, I think he has room at his new place to build it!

I don't really have a better idea than that to be honest.

No more happy endings in Apple Valley.

linky

Quote:
When Apple Valley residents discovered a suspected house of prostitution masquerading as a massage business near an elementary school, city officials reacted quickly.
The place was shut down within days by police, who then helped draft a new ordinance to better regulate how massage parlors operate.
City Council quickly approved the ordinance this month after Police Chief Scott Johnson warned that prostitution rings might target Apple Valley because of its lax oversight of massage establishments. The new ordinance requires background checks, investigation fees, disclosure of owners and a business license.
The council's decision, and Johnson's comments, have outraged massage therapists, especially those working out of their homes.
"You have a cottage industry here of people who work out of their home that become criminalized under this ordinance," said Barbara York, president of the Minnesota Touch Movement, a statewide organization of and for massage therapists.

Minnesota Touch Movement. Huh. Doesn't have the same ring to it as Mime Extermination Squad.

We need to get something going on that Mime Exterminnation Squad. We at least need stickers or something.

What a great suggestion for a wintry afternoon. I'll see what I can do.

I have a source that can make stickers for a good price. If you get a good design, we can get a bunch made and sell them on for small profit / at cost or something.

I've only been at this for 15 minutes and already need a drink to calm down.

fucking mimes!

There are a few places online where people have already put up designs. May be able to modify or just order some already made.

for example:

http://shop.cafepress.com/mime

http://www.zazzle.com/mime+gifts

I'm fond of:

Though I feel simpler is better and may strike out on my own.

Harrumph. Those aren't very good really. They're too generic and non ADV ish.

I have a vague idea in mind. Maybe I can sketch it out.

It needs the words on it too. Mime Elimination Squad.

It's important.
