I'll be curious to hear your film review of MK. Nice to meet you this morning!

I'll post up a quick review later. Everyone I know who has seen it tells me I'll love it. I hate having those expectations going in, but the truth is I generally love anything by Wes Anderson.

Nice meeting you as well Mr. Spikehead.

I haven't got a feckin clue what Moonrise Kingdom is. I shall google it later, after I have had some intelligence juice, when it will make more sense. But right now I have to take an oily cloth to my chain, and after that I am seriously considering retreating to the relative solitude of the shop, with some beer and some tunes.

Because that's how I roll.

I am meeting the Belle Plaine RAT group for a group ride, starting at Little Oscars on Hwy 52 at 8am (well, brekky at 8am, stands up at 9am). We are heading south on various pleasant roads, stopping in Holmen, Wi for lunch, then to the Mindoro Cut, and back on letter roads, finishing at the stockholm pie company.

I don't know how the ride is going to go - could be a mixed bag of riders, could be a few, could be many - I don't know. I'm a bit nervous, I don't like big groups. Still, we'll see.

But tossing it out there for ya. I'll be on the Bonneville.

I was going to go to Belle Plaine, but am now going to Akeley with Breeze. Others are welcome. We are going to do a couple of single track loops, probably no more than 50 miles.

Might see ya in the morning then. If not, assume I am sleeping in comfortable and cozy.

Right you are.

You could always run Pammy up to the Delta Diner for a day after birthday treat. Just saying.

That's a freakin' awesome idea.

Are we allowed to talk about food in the BS thread?

My fears about large group rides were completely unfounded. We had 12 bikes on the RAT group ride today, and apart from crashing my Bonneville it all went smooth as silk.

Crashing?

Yes, that's what it's called I think. Unplanned rider to ground interface. The ditch was very soft. I had to get up at 5.00 this morning, so a little lie down was welcome anyway. All very pleasant and tranquil.

Except for the slidey over the pavement bit.

Here's how it goes:

"I bet I can outrun that guy on the speed triple going down 108 to the Mindoro Cut"

"He he! I can he's way behind"

"Ha ha! I scraped my peg that was awesome!"

"Wow I'm really scraping the peg now! It's folding up and everything"

"This bend is getting really tighaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh why isn't the tyre on the ground any more?"

Slide scrape slap.

However, barely a mark on the bike. The right side bag and engine bar took all the damage. It will take hardly any work to get the bike looking pristine. Got quite lucky really, since I was being purely a pratt.

Some people just can't do hooliganism right.

I'd have taken pictures, but the end result had as all parked at the side of the road in a very dangerous spot, right on one of the tight bends, so I made everyone get out of there. But if you ride from Mindoro south on 108, on the last really tight bend, as it goes around and uphill prior to getting to the cut, you will see a prop and bonneville shaped dent in the side of the road.

What?

Oh. Everything seems in place. I figure I'll see what's stiff in the morning (I mean that isn't usually stiff) and go from there. I don't seem to be suffering unduly. Neck is slightly sore, ankle is slightly sore. That's about it. Quite undramatic really.

Well as much as that sucks it seems that you pulled through relatively unscathed. Now stop that!
