Am I the only noobie? Maybe I should put that in my profile "The Noobie"

I got a 1986 Honda Rebel 250. In a beautiful shade of blue. I will update my profile now.

Oh, forgot the other questions. I don't really watch anything on tv. I like watching plays but I don't think that's what you're asking...I'm curious about dirt bike races or trials but haven't looked them up on youtube, so I guess I can't really say I'm all that curious.

Ostego eh? Not much around there, but CRA is up in Brainerd. Hill climb is the only dirt going on in Red Wing..

This dual sport ride looks like fun, but damn. $75 just to sign up? Then D23 cards camping etc...

So far, the only event on my calendar is the IMS in January. The race in Brainerd looks interesting, wonder if I can get the family to go. I sure don't want to sit in a bunch of post-race traffic on my bike. Unless they have some magic exit system, I'm worried there'd be too many cranky tipsy folks who are trying to run each other over to get out.

I don't have any Rok straps yet. I think it's pretty funny that no one objected to a large vacuum cleaner attached to a rider, rather, the objection was to the type of strapping. Love the perspective in this group!!
Never use bungees. Rokstraps aren't really necessary, though. I use generic nylon straps.

I'm a motorcycle noobie. I've had a Buddy 125 scooter for a long time. I've owned a few bikes but I didn't put many miles on them because of back problems. I just bought a shiny silver 2008 Honda Rebel 250. I'm having a blast riding it.

Any suggestions on some fun roads to ride. I'm in Minneapolis. My physical limitations mean I can only spend about 2 hours on the bike before the pain way outweighs the pleasure. If I make some stops I might be able to extend that time limit some. Now that I can get out of the city I don't know where to go.

I'm sure someone here will tell me where to go.

Srsly tho

Hwy 3 (Robert Street) south of Hwy 55 is fun at extralegal speeds and close to you. Those yellow signs are for semis, you can do better.
The road out to Belle Plain is nice.
Draw a circle from Chaska/Waconia/Maple Plain/Hwy 55. Go wander around in it, including around lake minnetonka.
Ravenna Trail / 361 from Hastings to Red Wing
Welch Village Rd (cty 7)
Any county road in Goodhue or Wabasha Counties
County O off of 35 south of Prescott, WI

I've got to agree with this. I get the cam lock type, easy to just pull them tight and have a secure load. I can even cart a small refrigerator on my bike with these. I might even have some extras I could give you if you're interested.

Which one? The one I went looking for them in didn't have any.

Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't think they were serious about those yellow signes.
I think the first thing I'm going to do is get a big paper map. All the newfangled internets and GPS are helpful but there is nothing like laying out a big map to really see where you are going.

I was going to sneak out of work a little early to get on the bike but the boss caught me and now I'm stuck working hours late. An issue that has been going on since Wed. becomes urgent on Friday at 4:00. Stoopid computers.
