Deer do indeed suck

Sorry to hear about your deer strike, but all things considered it sounds like you got off fairly easy. Still no fun though.

Man that does suck - sorry to hear about it - glad the damage is (relatively) light. I passed one of those overgrown rats at speed last night - didn't see until it was too late - luckily it stayed put.

Headed down to Misery today and the main goal is to arrive before dusk.

I do not like the hooved forest rats.

On this matter, you and I are firmly in agreement.

They do taste quite good in a stew or grilled though.

Have a good ride down there. Or are you driving the piemobile?

For sport, trying running Wisc. Hwy 2, from the outskirts of Superior, east to Ashland in the darkness.. one could invent a "deer crash game" based on that stretch... "jumping beef" ...... yum, with carrots n onions....

I haven't ran into one since I was 16 years old. Did I mention they suck? This is why I hate riding at night.
What they need is a bounty instead of a hunting season. Wolves almost never kill people. Deer do it all the time.

Gravel road deer dodging on Sunday?

I'm looking to ride some gravel roads on Sunday. My favorites are down in Goodhue County, but the bridge is out at Hastings so the plan is to have breakfast in Cannon Falls, then kick up dust in a generally eastward direction, crossing the river at Red Wing. Or maybe I'll start by Red Wing and head toward Cannon Falls. I'm flexible that way .

Fazer time.

Cherry and apple pies in the topcase. Meeting some peeps at a farm to camp and sit around a campfire. Should be splendid.

There is an article in the Trib today about the motorcycle fatalities this year. 47 so far. 120 in 1980! Seems like helmet or no helmet they still die. Thank dog I wasn't riding my motorcycle home last night.

In 2011 five of the 41 fatalities were caused by the hooved ditch bangers.

When I'm the Gov, the daily deer limit shall equal the daily walleye limit.

Just FYI, in MN, deer hits are on your comprehensive insurance, not collision. So filing a claim likely won't impact your insurance rates. Even if you are fixing it yourself, you can take it into the adjuster, and get a check...

I just have liability. I know about the comp deal. I have it on my bikes.

Oh, last night on the drive home I get pulled over by the cops for having a light out on my truck (I let him have it and just got a warning) AND 2 more deer cross the road a bit in front of me not too far from my house.

Looks like a shitty weekend too...

Pie. Apple pie. Where is the best place to ride get apple pie. Just plain, no fancy crumbly crust, not too sweet. I know there are pie authorities here.
