Right. Unless you have specific requirements I'll figure out some sort of route out and back.

Meet for breakfast?

Suggest Merlins Family Restaurant on 169 and 95 at 9 am?

Otherwise, just head out from my place if'n ya want.

OK, got a 300 mile round trip idea that should work well. Gets us to the Pie Shoppe mid day ish (depending on brekky arrangements), and so gives us plenty of sit around eating pie time, coffee stop time and the like.

If pmd hasn't nabbed the tag we can add that to the route, but I expect it will have moved by thursday.

Also gets us home before prime forest rat hour.

My nut's too big.

Enough of the crankshaft talk....I've got a problem, my nut's too big.

From Camera Awesome Photos

The nut on the left is what the engineers at BMW designed to hold the axles on. It's a 26mm nut. Have you got a 26mm in your tool box? I don't. So I would like to replace that with a 27mm nut that I do have wrenches for. Which brings us to the right nut; the one that's too big. The right nut is a KTM 27mm with the same thread as the left nut. Problem is that the BMW axle nut fits into another piece that is the diameter of the collar at the base of the nut. So I need to take about 2mm off the diameter of the collar at the base of the KTM nut. The KTM nut is aluminum so I could work on it with a file but if anyone has a way to turn it properly it would probably come out better.

Anyone? Buehler?

Personally I'd leap at the opportunity to obtain another tool. I do have a socket that size, but not a spanner (wrench ).

My lathe is up and running now, I can do it for yer if'n ya want. I am not a master machinist by any means, but I can do it, being as it's only skimming a lil bit off the diameter.

It might cost you more in gas getting to my place than it would buying a new wrench though.

17 bucks for a 26 mm Wrench:

Powerhouse you are close to me, you can come on down and we can spin it on my lathe as well. Your call, Prop is much better machinist than I but if you're using a file, I may fit to your KLR standard.

I'll post some details tonight, but basically heading east to Wisconsin via Cambridge and Scandia, crossing over to Wi in Stillwater I think, then heading south via backroads to end up in Stockholm, Wi at roughly noon. Not sure what time we are meeting yet, but it sounds like 9am ish.

After lunch and pie we'll come back via different backroads.
