Barnyard and I are thinking of running down to Q fanatic tonight, in case anyone else is up for it.

I ended up making a sushi run. I also picked up 2 briskets that I am prepping for their date with the smoker.

I do like riding the RT.

The 261 is stored in an engine house that is on the northwest side of Northtown yard. I would bet that it is simmering there right now.

Dammit. I'd like to have seen that. Steam power is awesome. One of the few times that the use of the word "awesome" is appropriate.

I typically get a notice when the Steam train is coming through Le Sueur. I will try to to post it up when I know they are coming. It is has been on a week day the last few years. One of the few perks of being an elected official.

Well done, ride safe. I'm glad the weather broke long enough for you to get out of here.

From the questions from left field department...

Anyone know a good place to get play sand (for a kids sandbox) in bulk? southern / south-eastern suburbs. Want to pick up a few cubic yards.

Google has found me a few landscape supply stores... and I guess there is a certain value in having them load it with a skid-steer versus me shovelling it... but free is good too....

I always bought sand at a ready mix concrete plant, learned that from my dad and he learned it from his dad. Ready mix sand is pretty clean, very, very little organic matter.
