It is indeed great to finally move forward. Follow Spike's thread for name-changey info.

Best of luck. Now start getting some miles on.

If I may suggest a new username of "Rameses Niblick the 3rd kerplunk kerplunk where's my thribble?"

I think that fits the bill of unique and easy to remember.

Thanks for the suggestion Prop but, em.... no.

I have the request in for "FirstPath". It's the name of the first kung fu form you learn when you get your 1st degree. The thought is that it is now where you start and move forward. Achieving your first degree to many is reaching the plateau. But, historically in martial arts, it IS just the beginning. Seems to have nice ring with adventure motorcycling too.

So it's time for more learning, sharing and enjoying the ride.

Works for me.... now when is the next Meet and Greet? I'm going to go to Club Jager 'round 1pm Saturday if'n a few folks want to ride downtown.

Changed the oil in my truck today. 2300 miles since the last change last October, 7 months ago. I truly don't drive very much.

New tires for the KLR! Unfortunately the t63 is on national back order or some bs so I have a t63 front and a Karoo rear now. Cost $170 from DK and I mounted em myself. Now lets go ride some trails!!

I'm taking a week off to get to the Hiawatha Rally. (A friend is going along for part of the ride but can't attend the rally.) I'm looking for some interesting waypoints especially in the area between Eau Claire and Duluth and Duluth and the Twin Cities. I am most interested in historic and/or unique places off the beaten path. I'm pretty satisfied up to Eau Claire but would welcome any ideas.

With the exception of Friday, May 24 most of the trip will be on gravel and minor roads.

The general plan:
Ride NE from KC to the Mississippi River around Fort Madison, IA.
From Ft. Madison head north generally along the Mississippi River until about LaCrosse.
From LaCross leave the river and go north to Eau Claire.
EauClaire to Duluth. (This is where I need ideas)
Duluth south to the St. Croix and then to Stillwater.
Stillwater to the Rally.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eddie

Was checking out your link to your Texas Hill Country ride. Looks like a nice adventure. My plan is to ride down there next spring when I escape winter to visit my folks.
