Well...

I did bike maintenance on Wednesday instead of riding. cleaned the chain and air filter and then put on a new rear tire to match the new front I put on a couple weeks ago.

I now know I would never be a good bike mechanic. The rear tire, a Kenda Trackmaster 760, six frickun' ply mind you, only took 1/2 the day to do!

I now know why they charge $30-$35 buck to change one out......

Went to Missouri last weekend South of Keokuk, Iowa. Some good gravel riding down there.

When's the next ride gentlemen?

Tires

I only charge $25.00 provided they are off the bike.........

I am no ISDE guy, but 10 to 15 minutes on a good day. I got it down to 10mins total on the TAT, including removing the wheel. But then the tire was nice and warm, so that makes it easier.

That was the problem...

I had never had the rear wheel off the bike and took my time to make sure I could put it back together. Being off the chart OCD I cleaned and greased it all up also.

Now that I am out of Kendas I am going to Dunlop 606s next, I hear the wear great.

One of these days I will check the valves, that should only take 3 or 4 days!

it's only an hour or two job. the cams are pretty easy to get to. If you have to replace a shim it takes a little bit longer.

Just fixed the oil leak ...

I caused when cleaning the oil screen thing. 4500 miles and it was clean so was a waste of time. Went on a Missouri ride last weekend and noticed it was weeping a little. Hopefully this time it's fixed.

Staples, I'll buy the beer and pizza sometime this Winter when I rejet the carb, replace the plug and check the valves if ya stop by and supervise the worst poser bike mechanic you've ever seen....

Still have 4 days to burn this year, where is the next ride?????

I think we need to go way south. In lands where there are no paved roads and even gravel is hard to come by.

LBL sounds good to me. A 3 or 4 day weekend. It may not be challenging enough for XYZ though, since he has gone hardcore off-road.

Maybe BigDog would lead us on a Shawnee Forest ride as well.

Anything about 6 hours south of here would work..

Be it LBL or Missouri somewhere. Good news, the new rear tire I put on the other day still has air in it, woo hoo!
