Went for a ride in the Hoosier National Forest today, mostly to see the fire tower on Hardin Ridge. Beautiful day for a scoot..

Gas was relatively cheap..

Tower Ridge Road, off 446..

Did I mention that I'm afraid of heights?

There's a Wee-Strom down there somewhere in the shadows...

Whew. Back on Terra Firma...

All in all, another great day on the bike. I racked up a couple hundred miles in all...

Good display of the interesting stuff you can found in southern Indiana.

If you get a chance, try this short trip sometime.

Highly recommended.

There was some concern not to look either up or down.

This morning I about did a face plant trying to walk downstairs for breakfast.

John, I live 13 miles from N.Vernon. Too bad I didn't know you were coming through. Next time, go on down 50 to 421 and South to Madison. Get on Hwy 62 East -Chief Whiteye Trail. Beautiful ride!

I hope to make it back to Muscatatuck Park some day soon. It's a hidden jewel, imho. I suppose now I'll have to check out Hwy 62 as well. My work is never done..

awesome pics. I need to get out and post some pictures of my neck of the woods. I live up near Muncie and there are some neato small towns out in the country.

It's been 8 months since a post in this thread, and for-e-ver since I've been able to do any real pleasure riding on the KLR.. Sure, I've made a few winter/spring trips for rehearsals and such, but I don't remember the last time I took a day to just wander on the bike.. Today Tracy (Pinktoad) and I got out for a bit, and worked on our gravel skills...

Good fun today.

Not many roads down in Vigo County are challenging, but there is just something about meandering thru the country side when I am home to visit the folks in Prairie Creek (@25 mins South of Terre Haute on IN63).

I was actually pleasantly surprised how much having a GPS helped me find roads I didn't know existed before. There's some good stuff around here, but nothing gnarly. Pretty much everything I encountered in Labrador is represented but on a smaller scale, which is good training for us since I'd sure like to make that run again. Tracy only planted it in the ditch once (uphill turn, deep fresh large gravel), and knows exactly how it happened so it's all a great learning experience for us couple of noobs..
