I followed a couple of quads up it a few weeks ago once at the top I turned around. Here is a shot down into the ravine on the left side, I plan on going back and climbing down to get some better pictures.

Only ate at Shoe's once so far, need to get back before I move out of the area next month.

If you like photos of old rusting cars and trucks there is old guy on Fisher RD that has a few acres worth. Once the leaves come on all the way you won't be able to see them from the road. I stopped and asked to go back and look, he was very talkative and had a few stories to tell about the cars.

I'll be driving my truck up there, but KLR will be in the back...couldn't go two weeks without riding up there! 246/46 are pretty fun, and IN160 off of 65 just before Kentucky line (exit 16 or 19, can't recall of the top of my head) has "NO trucks, sharp curves ahead next xx miles" on the overpass. Seems like it might be worth a peek. I'll shoot you a message closer to my departure...

Cool! Yesterday somewhere in Putnam County we passed a place that had a bunch of old Jeeps, including at least one of those flat-nosed pickup thingies. A guy was in the driveway sitting in an ancient RH drive unit, and waved as we passed.

I need to get down to the river more. There's some really great riding.

Pinktoad and I went for a spin today, heading South and East from Terre Haute via whatever gravel roads we could find...

One of the old favorites, somewhere between SR159 and SR59, a few miles Northwest of Clay City..

Pinktoad tells me this is an odd way to park..

She's still trying to figure out which bolt or part of the frame left an imprint on her leg that one time she dumped the bike on the Cannontrek...

Freedom (from air pressure), Indiana...

We stopped for a late lunch in Worthington, but the Main Street Cafe was closed due to the heat. We rode up to Clay City for some A&W root beer, and to get a shot of the bank thermometer...

A good day on the bikes in the oppressive heat...

I love this thread, John.

Great photos.

If she's riding with you in 103F heat in all that gear she's a keeper.

Thanks. It was pretty friggin' hot to ride! Pinktoad would be lost without me. I'm like a big project for her; one that's never completed.

This route is nice backroads and curvy in spots. Start in Nineveh and head south. Corvette Club in Anderson used to take this route.

I'd forgotten all about that one! I'll have to check it out in September, after the CADVR in Wisconsin, because I don't have any time off until then. Thanks for the reminder!

That was fun and the weather was perfect.

Maybe get in a little road ride today. I have to fix a blinker first.

Really wishing I was at Skibum69's Soiree this weekend...
