Eek Just WOW!

Absolutely outstanding! I have been dreading the conclusion of this one but hanging out, salivating , waiting for the next installment. The "lack of pictures" that you mentioned in your early posts, were never an issue as the story was so well told.

Many thanks for taking the time to put up such a beautifully written story. This one hit the top of my list of favourites .

Cheers,
Allan

Thank you - very much! Your praise, undeserved as it may be, is ample reward for the time and effort associated with putting together a report such as this. Hopefully, future reports will have more photos of breathtaking, unforgettable scenes, and fewer lines of forgettable prose.

A wonderful report; thanks for sharing. I'm hoping to get stationed at Fort Richardson and look forward to riding the great white north while it's still white.

You probably won't want to ride too much while it's white, but Alaska offers some great riding during our brief summer. Hope you make it - there are some great folks to ride with here in the Great White North. In the meantime, thanks for your service to our country.

What a story!!! I too dreaded the conclusion of this incredible RR. I loved your writing style. Thanks so much for taking the time to write this up and for taking us along on your adventure of years past. Your grit for the road and adventure is truely admirable and inspiring for this 25 year old young buck who at this point is only dreaming of seeing more of this continent from behind the bars of a bike.

Keep the rubber side down

Great Report, Jack!

Y'know, reading this makes me want to come up there for that warm beer and cold steak...

I was thinking about you this morning as I rode into work in a balmy 36 degrees shortly after 6am. Well, balmy for you I guess. I thought it was a wee bit chilly...!!!

Thanks so much for sharing a great experience. You have a wonderful talent for putting words to "paper". I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your adventure the past two nights... (and some great pics too...!!!)

What makes you think we'll warm up the beer for you? This is Alaska - everything is cold: Your steak, your bike seat, your feet, and your beer. The only thing that is warm is your welcome when you get here.

Great report. Great trip. I started reading this morning, a few breaks , just finished. I've been up the Alcan a couple of times in my VW camper, best road trip ever. Just getting back into biking after a 30 hiadis (for no good reason) with a '08 KLR. That connie of yours is as impressive as you are.
Keep on scooting.

Before ya start thinkin about snow tires, first ya gotta practice keeping it upright in dry asphalt parking lots.

Glad you enjoyed it. The ride was fun, just a warm-up for a real winter ride though. Hope you guys make it up this way again before I get too old to tag along for some laughs.

Why, thank you, sir. The Connie did all the work, I just went along for the ride.

Surprised to see this thread come back to life - thought it had been buried long ago.

Eh? Buried???

No chance of that! It lives in "My Favourites" and I read it again just recently - most enjoyable.

Just hangin' around waiting for your next one, when you feel you would like to share some more.

Cheers
Allan
