Hey hiflybrd I will keep that in mind. I think I have made up my mind on the Yamaha but you never know.

And Mr. Thumper, my wife and I just settled on the sale of the house in Maryland today so that is done. We have decided to rent for a year or so before we buy again. We want to get more familiar with the island first. Right now we live in a highrise on Queen Emma Street named Capitol Place. We are looking to live in Aina Haina or maybe Hawaii Kai. This coming monday we hope to sign a lease on a home in a neighborhood named Mariner's Ridge and move into the home on November 2nd. I can't wait until the dust settles.

The kids love this place by the way.

Boy I tell you, being a kid on Oahu is tough duty, and now with a couple of extra Fridays off a month it can only be worse....

Got some good friends in Aina Haina, up on Hema Place. Hawaii Kai and A. H. are a tough commute if you need to go into town during normal business hours though with a MC you can use the carpool lane.

Yes Thumper the kids are adjusting to the beach quite easily.

I spoke with my wife multiple times about the commute from that side of the island. From what have found the traffic on the bottom half of this island is awful. This is the lesser of the three evils. After having spent years sitting in DC traffic we figure we can pretty much handle whatever the island throws at us.

So my household goods, including my riding gear, arrived and we will be moving into our new house on Monday. I went to the bike shop today and bought a leftover 2008 WR250R and plan on picking it up next Tuesday.

I can't wait to be riding again!

I'm going to be in KBay HI for the week, anyone have a spare bike and feel like playing tour guide for a few hours?

Or mountain bikes and some good trails?

You have probably made it to the island by now. Sorry I don't have a spare bike. I will be picking up my new one tomorrow.

I don't know if you have considered renting a motorcycle but there are several places that rent Japanese and American made motorcycles. I am looking for an excuse to ride the new bike later this week. If you are game pm me.

As a side note, there is a restaurant in Wakiki named Dukes Barefoot Bar. The place gets good reviews and looks like fun.

You here with the III MEF DCG? he just popped over here via CH-53, I coulda tossed a K2 on board for you to cruise around on! There're some BMW's available for rent over there too. Good luck!

I should be in the islands on the 9 th will be there for about 1 week visiting my brother. I don't even know if he has a running bike at this time. He is a ranger for the U of H research station at one time he worked on their telescopes so I hope to see some snow.

Sounds good, I'm off Thr, Fri, Sat, & Sun and there's a Night Ride around Mauna Kea planned for Saturday night, I gotta mod my stator and then I might be up for that, I got a bunch of Goretex and Snivel gear if you're interested. Something about riding at night, on Rocky Trails, at 9,000+ feet, and at Below 30 degrees doesn't really appeal to me but you never know...

I guess that might be alright if you followed it up with a soak in the hot springs... The crew did a 175 mile dual sport run today, I had to work a bit so came home and rode some trails in the OHV park.

Any idea if Brian is still the service manader at South Seas? I worked there (part time) for a while back in the early nineties. We were the#2 scooter dealer in the country for quite a long time. Some dealer in Socal was #1. I lost track of how many Razz and Elite 50 scooters I put together!
