Make sure you test drive your setup at home before you head out in cool/cold weather. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Hennesy Hammock fan. But the one limitation I've found (well, other than requireing trees ) is that I can't keep warm in cold weather. There are all kinds of setups to keep your back warm, but once you start piling all that complexity into the system, it loses a lot of it's appeal for me.

Oh, actually there's a third limitation. They suck for couples.

Winter camping on your scoot, this is a great report

Camping on you scoot is great and your gear works fine. looks like the bigger tent added comfort and your meal was manly fare. way to go!
