Sadly, there's no TV coverage of the event here in Germany. Hopefully they'll release a DVD of the entire event!

Good job by your dad! There is TV coverage out there if you can uderstand Dutch.

You anybody please mention to me on what channel?? We have satellite TV at home, and hopefully I'll be able to receive one of those channels!

Dutch is similar to German, so it shouldn't be much of a problem!

In fact I have. He calls us at home every evening to give us a small report
At first he wasn't all to fond of the event when we were in Marseille for scrutineering.
For example, all competitors were told to meet at the Novotel hotel, Marseille. Once you were there, you ask the people at the reception where the rallye stuff was happening. They of course had absolutely no clue... Not a single person from the organisation was to be found there. A couple of hours somebody showed up and told everybody that scrutineeering was being held at a school about 5km or so away. P.I.T.A !!

Another thing was with the start number (the stickers). After having placed them on the front and on the 2 rear sides, of which one is a rear tank, we stopped at a petrol station to fill them all up. Upon filling the reear tank, a bit of fuel dripped onto the sticker on the rear tank. When trying to wipe it away, the sticker started to fall apart and the colours started fading away!!

But during the rallye, he has said that it's all alot better than expected. The entire caravan is small, meaning you don't have to wait long for your meal The atmospehere is relaxed and everybody helps out each other!

Today's stage was however neutralized, since some guys had a really hard time during the stage yesterday... Just a 1000km liaison today

Only 1 of the 10 bikes has had to give up. Rider Thibault Chatelier (XR400) had an accident during the liaison of stage 6, when they all had to start at 5 in the morning. The roads were slippery, so he slipped and broke his ankle (and maybe hip?). Dad also fell, but nothing happened...

As of Thursday, Thomas still in third !

Great show ! Happened to be in London Tuesday and Wednesday, and Sky Sports gave the Africa Race the same number of air-minutes as the Dakar.

Somebody's paying attention !

I wish someone would post those shows - I found some Africe Race torrents but they are in Dutch.

Well guys, it's finally over...
The first ever Africa Race has come to an end in Lac Rose, Dakar.
Dad finished 3rd overall, his best result ever!!!
