Great find on that site Z Stomp. I just watched the Bonnieville shorts and the chase scene from Bullitt. Cool stuff.
I passed through Stumptown on my way to the coast, not enough time to check out everything. My old style RR is "Skeedadle to Seattle".

Are you going to make Darby?

Another picture of Sally I found at www.shorpy.com. A neat site that has lots of old pictures at very high resoultions.

From the website...

September 15, 1937. "First of fair sex to obtain motorcycle license in Capital. Although she weighs only 88
pounds -- one-third of the machine she rides, Mrs. Sally Halterman is the first woman to be granted a license
to operate a motorcycle in the District of Columbia. She is 27 years old and 4 feet, 11 inches tall. Immediately
after receiving her permit, Mrs. Halterman was initiated into the D.C. Motorcycle Club -- the only girl ever to
be accorded this honor."

No wise cracks here. I was 4 years old when this photo was taken.
You should be proud and hang on to all of the memories of your mother... they will take you far. I have a feeling that you had a great childhood.
For some reason this photo "hit home" for me.
Cheers,
Mark
