My wife and I were on a classic bike run when we got caught up in a tribe of Indians.Photos are in Raglan New Zealand.
I took some pics and as there was a girl adjacent to one of the bikes I thought I could post it.
Looked to be over 30 Indians of all ages, I was surprised to see a shaft transverse V twin one.

Next pics have no girls so look away now....

The transverse shaft drive Indian was commissioned by the US War Department during WWII, along with the shaft drive Harley-Davidson, because as the chain drive systems were getting chewed up in the sands of North Africa, and it was observed that the shaft drive BMWs and Zundapps kept going and going.







These shaft driven American bikes are relatively rare, but not terribly popular as they are heavy and slow.
