To get in with the ST crowd, especially with the low fuel mileage, it needs a larger gas tank. I will probably buy one anyway, but that is my only gripe with it as a sport-tourer.

True it is more sport than tour...but it gets a consistent 40+ mpg on the highway, giving it a range of 200 miles or more. I've had mine at 175 miles and the light wasn't on yet and it took less than 4 gallons. Not stellar, but good enough to do most touring. It'll also eat almost any other bike in the twisties...and will hang with absolutely anything. The handling can only be described as telepathic.

I've done 2 multi-day, 2,000+ mile trips on mine, and I have no complaints. By the time it needs gas I'm more than ready for a stretch!
