Thinking of my next dual sport; XT250, DR200,TW200,CRL230F. One of these.
Hi Jon,

I used to do mine every year (25,000 miles). Each time I found no sign or wear nor damage.

Regards

Well, if it takes Clarke Mnfg. as long as it took for the XT225 and TW200--about 15 years or so.

I took a three day 800 mile trip through Ohio on my Yamaha XT-250 this past June…

Here are some pictures from my ride…

An “Ohio” barn painted during 2003 Ohio’s 200th birthday.

I stopped in the Hocking Hills area for a little hiking…

Now for some covered bridges…

This next one is the “Cox Bridge” built in 1884

This is me inside the “Cox Bridge”…

Here are some random scenery pictures…

Here are a couple more from my trip.
I stopped and ate at the original "Bob Evans Restaurant" in Rio Grande, Ohio.
This is where it all started for my favorite place to eat.

Hi Medic,

I'd just seen your post on XT225.com , so I'm even more hungry now, seeing the breakfast for the second time!

When I had my XT225 there were times I got over 100 mpg (that's US gallons). If ridden at 50 mph and under it often returned 90+. I'm wondering what the gas tank capacity is on the XT250? And how far till it hits reserve?

Thanks, Jon

Hi Birdmove,

I used to average around 90 mpg (imperial gallons) on my XT250. As for the tank range, I used to get around 150 miles before a fill up was needed.

Regards

I think that I must ride harder/heavier than many people, but on my 250 I hit reserve right at 130 miles usually. If I fill up within 10 miles, I can put in 2.1 gallons into the tank, so, I think that reserve is right at .6 gallons or so. I have run the bike down more before and put in exactly 2.5 gallons. I had really close to 160 miles on the tank when I did that.

2.6 gallons total, with about 0.5 of that the reserve. Commuting I usually hit reserve between 135 and 145 miles. Faster speed is worse mileage, unlike bigger/faster bikes whose performance suffers in traffic. It regularly gets 70-75 mpg, even off-road, unless you're doing a lot of 65+ mph or full-throttle flogging (in which case I sometimes dip to mid 60s mpg).

Two pics from today's ride. Just a bit over 200 miles, I THINK about 50-60 was off pavement. Great day! Too bad the pictures (taken 45 miles apart) turned out so similar. They were both in logging areas, but I rode a bunch of woods gravel/dirt roads also.
