Still pulls the cables tight at full lock.
Curious to know how the custom clutch cable works out.

Dunno, I'll see how MYBLUETTCA does when his come in. I remember the throttle being snug too, but I am wondering if I might be able to gain some there somehow. I have thought about going to minimal switchgear and narrowing the bars some too

tell it was box stock. I'm just starting to get busy.

to answer this correctly, you probably could, but the bolt holes from the older klx's (pre 09) are diffrent from the newer ones, so you would be drillin holes and ghetto rigging it kinda. also remember that tank need a slimmer fan to fit. with that said, i might still try this set up at some point. i have the acerbis right now and ride the bike like a mxer, and the extra with of the tank is starting to bother me when railing ruts.

narrowing the bars will help, personally, i rotated the whole throttle/starter set up back some and got a few extra mm's out of it. if you havent done that yet its worth a try.

im glad to see this bike is starting to get a good buzz on the forum, i mean ive beat the freaking snot out of mine for 16,700 miles now and not any major problems. change the oil every once in a while, maybe check the valves while your at it, put some gas in her, twist the grip till you hit the lock and youll smile for days. i dont see me parting with mine ever, but i do see some kx's forks in its future.

I'm wrapping up a fun month riding northern Thailand on a 2009 KLX 250 S.

I've been happy with the bike and am considering trading my 2005 KLR 650 for a 2009 or 2010 KLX in Colorado.

I wouldn't consider a WR250R if the KLX was fuel injected, like this Thailand model is. By the way, this fuel injected model retails for under $4,200 here.

Those are those little angled convex mirrors you put down in the corner of a side rear view mirror to provide a bit more angle vision to the side of your vehicle...blindspot aids. I have 'em on my van and 4X4.

I have a set of Contour ATV Hi bars hanging in the garage new.. I will be ordering a clutch cable and risers/adapters when I know I'm going to be off the bike one weekend.
