Really digging this bike. I might have to pull the trigger on one if I can swing it. Just have one question. Will it take a jump. I like to jump rather it be a track with landing ramps or flat landing out on the trail. My current ride bottoms out just looking at a jump. How does this thing do. I'm 160 pounds bye the way. would appreciate any input.

It's sprung for about #150 out of the box. J is about that, and doesn't seem to have issues. I'm almost 200 with gear right now, and don't bottom out, but I don't do much in the way of jumps either. Suspenders are not on par with my KTM, but for woods riding it works fine

I had to crank the adjusters in a good ways to keep from bottoming out on those asphalt jumps. Coming down flat it would bottom occasionally. By the end of the day I was hitting them alot harder than I was in those vids. I think I had the clicker at around 6 out from firm. It's definately not an MX bike but it gets the job done. Those jumps were about 3' high just guessing.

155 lbs we were probably reaching a height of around 5' on the jumps.

Hey J! I really like what you did with the the SM setup and engine mods. That's a nice looking machine.

Hi all,

I've been waffling for about a year on the '09 KLX. Finally pulled the trigger last week. Found a showroom condition red one with 750 miles for $3300. The plan is to fine tune my trails skills on a light DS as so many inmates have suggested in the Perfect Line forum. I have a DR650 but it can be a handful in the woods. Now to add some farkel......

Great Thread.

Where did you get those bottle mounts?

Racegirl,

Where did you get the bottle mounts in the picture. Also, could you provide some close up photos off how they are mounted beside the luggage rack.
