Also, for those of us who are geocachers, I've made a Caches Along a Route here: http://www.geocaching.com/my/userrou...7-aebc24b00ac3

Let me know if this link doesn't work. It's hard to tell if that link only works for me since I created the route, or whether it works for everyone.

Just a note: it was a PITA to make the geocaching route because the MapSource route only has the bridges as waypoints. When I initially uploaded the route, it merely put straight lines between them. I wanted something a bit more precise. Some Google Maps and GMaptoGPX work, and this is the result, this is a very good approximation to the GPX route uploaded by Jeff.

Thanks Jeff.

Planning to leave Sunday or Monday to follow this route. It looks great.

I'm confused how you created the route. There doesn't seem to be any via points, aside from the bridges themselves. If I tell Mapsource to recalculate the route, it changes. Also, if I try to invert the route (since I'm hoping to do it in the other direction) the route changes to different roads.

How did you make this route so clean? Whenever I create a route, I'm forced to insert a bunch of via points to get it to follow the roads I want. Yours doesn't have those... which is cool, but it appears that it makes it impossible to modify the route at all.

I only got to see one of the bridges on my trip through Kentucky last month, but I was really sweet and provided me a great shot with my RT in front of it. After last week's freak accident, it remains to be seen if the RT will ride again, so that photo has even more value to me. ;-)

Next time I'm in the area, I'll have to go see the remaining bridges.

Damn, I wish I found this thread 3 days ago. Had a very nice ride on route 52 in souther Ohio on Friday. If I only knew that I'm passing 3 covered bridges just on the other side of the Ohio river! Oh, well, may be next time.

It looks like this attachment (along with many others) got lost in the server upgrade. If you try to DL, it just downloads the .gif image.

Jeff, anyway you can edit your original post and delete that attachment and try re-attaching it again? That should fix it since you'll be re-attaching to the new servers now.

If anyone wants to send it to me, its my username here at gmail.com.

Thanks,

Dan

Here's the original GPX.

And here's a link to my ride report where I followed the route: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=468807

From my recollection, the route is all paved roads. That said, some of the bridges are pretty remote, meaning the pavement conditions vary greatly. Also, many of the parking areas and driveways leading to the bridges are gravel.
