Combed through all the posts and collected most of the roads that were specific enough to find it on the map or on the net. I organized them by State in an Excel sheet; assigned one, sometimes two links, mostly Google Maps and Wikipedia. This way it is easier to plan a trip in a specific area.

I plan to add more routes if this thread keeps growing.

A.K. thanks sifting the information out of here and organizing it! I hadn't looked at this discussion for awhile, and I don't think I contributed. I was surprised not to see California 3 or Oregon 242. I guess 3 is part of ride #43. Ride #42 I think is all California 49.

While the idea of there being "10 best" seems a little silly to me, this discussion and compiling people's favorite roads in one place is great. Thanks to everyone who contributed roads. Could anyone contribute a little time for me to ride them?

Meh! Excel can't link all the Google Maps. If the link is longer than 255 characters you have to copy-paste it into your browser.

Sorry folks! Live and learn.

HTML version coming soon.

Yes, you can. Clink the link button in Maps and check the Short URL box.

Thanks for the info!

Still, I decided to complete the HTML version, this way you don't need an additional software, works fine through the browser.

Most of the best OR and WA roads aren't on that list. I guess the PNW folks are keeping the good stuff a guarded secret. I won't be the one to ruin it by telling people where we all go to ride. Although I did see OR242/126 mentioned in a couple of posts.

There's certainly a few good roads in WA and OR, just not good enough for a top ten list. Rattlesnake Grade might be worthy though.

Excellent and well appreciated work. I was surprised there were no Ohio listings. It will make me travel even more.
Thanks!

Rattlesnake Grade no more

Previous poster DUCK may not be aware of recent work to straighten the rattlesnake grade. It is now a six-lane highway built to interstate standards. Sorry to disappoint all of you that may have wanted to ride it. We'll look for some other roads and post them though.

Fully aware that I'll attract attention to this area, I still find it amazing that there's little mention of central Oregon as far as street roads. We riders in B.C. take regular week rides usually using John Day as a base. State 218 from Fossil to Clarno, 207 from Mitchel to the Service Creek Lodge at state 19, State 19 from,,,well really from Fossil all the way to John Day, 395 from Dayville to Ukiah. Really, you could spend a whole week out there playing and not ride a road twice. From The Dalles, to Enterprise, Baker City to Sweet Home, it's a motorcycle version of Disneyland.
