Like to try one ..........
6.2"(189cm) here...if i can help.So I have the same Wund's Vario Toutring screen. If I have it on the upper position working perfect that all I tried till now.Just you forget annoying disturbing air on your face.No turbulences at all.It is working so well and I think it's good looking -in my opinion-such better than other some looking a bit ugly...
Hope it helps

ZTechnik F800GS VStream Windshield

Hi,

Is there anyone using the ZTechnik F800GS VStream Windshield?
I'm looking for an alternative to the original windscreen to minimize the noise at speeds from 65mph and above.

With the oiginal windscreen the wind hits me right below my chin (I'm about 5' 11" height) producing a lot of noise inside my helmet...

Greetings from Brazil

Twalcom

After reading this thread (and there's a lot), I have finally decided on one. Maybe not THE BEST, but appears to be a good combo of touring without the barndoor effect and is off-road ready.
I don't mind minimal protection, but hate buffeting. I tried the smaller F650GS(twin) screen. Didn't like it either. I'm taking a trip with lots of miles and wanted something that won't make my eyeballs vibrate.

This unit looks to be the same as the Powerbronze. There are a couple of outfit's marketing he same screen. Of which one is Twalcom.
Thin and kind-of flimsy seems to be the only knock on them. I'll give a better report once it comes in and I put a few miles on it.

Twalcom

On my 650GS I have tried an aeroflow, ztech, calsci, cee baileys and a madstad as well as the stock short BMW screen with a laminar lip on it. My personal choice is the madstad, quiet and with the supplied winglets great all weather protection. It can be removed in seconds if your headed off road, or with two wrenches it can be left on the bike but lowered completely out of the way. Want even more on road weather protection, add aeroflow hand guards, duct deflectors and leg guards. Now you have a true all weather tourer but all that weather protection (except for the hand guards) can be removed in less then five min so you can play in th dirt when you reach your destination.

I got lucky because it seems to fit me just right, no buffeting and the wind clears my head by about two inches or so. Also I have a custom seat that raises me up about an inch

So if I'm reading what you wrote correctly, then at my size (5' 9" 30-31" inseam) the small Ztechnik (V Stream) touring screen might be a better choice than the medium you are using. Or do you think the medium would still not end up in my line of sight?

I really like the look of the dark smoked sport version but at only 12" I suspect it will not provide any better protection than the short one already on my F658.

Also, did you need the mirror extenders they recommend so the mirrors do not hit the screen?

Thanks,

Jon...

I think that you could probably get by with the shorter screen. The medium screen, as it sits on my bike, is several inches below my line of sight. I doubt if it would be in your way. One thing I have found out over the years, is that it is pretty easy to cut windscreens down a bit if they are too high. That way you can customize to your taste.

I didn't get the extenders for the mirrors and have had no problem with them contacting the screen at full lock. The Barkbusters are another matter as they had significant contact until I installed my ROX risers, which I used to pull my bars back a bit. Now they barely touch the screen, in fact the contact is so minor, I'm not going to worry about it.

Lokey,

Thanks for the feedback.......I appreciate it.

I've also trimmed a few shields before so I think I'll take some measurements and if the small 15" will be to low then I'll get the medium 18" and trim it to fit.

Good to know you did not need the extenders. I'll skip them for now.

Jon...

I don't know, and maybe it's because I own an RT too, but I really like the "breeze in the face" feel of my F 800. I might swap out the seat, but the windscreen is just about perfect to me.
