You can probably build one for less if you weren't in a hurry. Stripped lowers can be had for $70 on occasion. I think I saw some place selling them for $60 a while back. Lower parts kit for $50-60, M4 stock with buffer tube and buffer for $60-70.

I don't trust myself to not make it ugly.

I'd rather buy a set.

I think last time I saw a set they were on the Midway 1911 parts area.

no exact plans for now, I enjoyed shooting one while in oregon and was looking at it as an option, rifle ranges are not too close by so not sure if it is worth looking seriously at yet.

Woot

Probably can't afford the flight and license, but I'd give it a serious look!

I'm super awesome. Just ask Mike.

Whatcha carrying today hmmmmm?

I am rockin it old school today, a 1978 AMT Hardballer. .45acp 1911 of course. Shoots like a dream. And it is one of the first 10 ever made after they switched to the new metalurgy since their old metalurgy was prone to galling.

Here it is with my Man Bag...uh purse for my camera.

Actually the SECOND one ever made after the change.

Here's what the old ones looked like in case anyone cares or is wondering...

BTW AMT Hardballer was the worlds first all stainless 1911.

True, but you have to run them really wet to keep them from galling, you don't have to do anything special with mine. I also think mine looks so much better since I hate all stainless 1911.s Plus, that older model didn't have any of the trick stuff on it stock. All Government parts, where mine is all tricked out from the factory.
