The stoeger model 2000 I was referencing earlier is a copy of the benelli bolt system. Functions the same way, but they changed the blue prints enough so you cant swap between the two.

I don't expect the quality to be equal, but getting essentially the same operating system for $500 seems like a good deal.

I dunno if it's a copy of Inertia Drive... I looked at their website and from the badging, I'd bet it's a licensed copy. You may be right about the parts interchangeability though.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

They're owned by benelli too.

Awful pricey.

Might be hard for it to get a foothold and catch on. At least in the current state.

Well, I have an opinion, I neither think it is THAT pricy or that is it a good looking thing. Although, it would be fun to have. Like a 22 conversion, it has it's merits. I would like to try one on a specific frame I have first before buying one though for certain. I'll bet it is pretty much as they say. It would be great for three gun if the rules in your 3 gun match would allow it. Especially on a hi cap frame.

Don't know if it would work on a hicap frame, but if it did then yes, it would probably be good for 3 gun. That is what it is made for - racing of various types, and it would probably be good for bullseye. If you look at the cost of various competition guns, this is not expensive at all. Just don't try to shoot hot loads in it.

I'd be more interested if it were available in 10mm, but I'm weird like that.

Unless I am wrong, there is no difference in a hi cap 1911 rail and a Standard cap 1911 rail. Commander knows....??
