I would say that's a hell of a deal when people are willing to pay $3000 for a competition gun on a whim.

I don't see the purpose really. "Race guns" are not just about accuracy. They are about compensators, red dots, mag capacity and the ability to use higher pressure cartridges. That device may add to accuracy, but it doesn't improve anything else.

I've got several 1911s... that looks interesting, but for the price I might as well pick up another 1911... I don't shoot competitions anymore however, and I never got into the race guns...

.45ACP never did it for me. I could watch the rounds go downrange, so I figured anybody on the receiving end could see them coming and step out of the way. Especially since the sound gets there first to warn them. I have to say that the new slide looks cool, though.

Or if they were a ninja, they might catch them and throw'em back at you.

I only fired a 1911 or a .45acp for that matter, once, but I did see the lead heading downrange. Part of that might be because they are so big.
Wonder if you'd see a .22 if it was going the same speed.

from directly behind, especially if the lighting is right, you can watch .40 and 9mm toddle off to the target too.

Yeah, it mostly has to do with perspective and lighting. Distance to the target helps too.

If you're so off put by a heavy slow round, you can easily get a 1911 in .40 or 9mm.

Friend had one of those. We modified a MG-13 mag to fit it for a few more rounds. Good shooter, weighed a ton. After he got lax in cleaning it started becoming a jam o matic on him. So keep her clean and go pump some iron to hold that front end up.

And watch your fingers with that damn bolt. More than one person got bit by that thing. I cant recall if it stays back witht he safety or not. I think thats the case. Safety on means no forward flying bolt. Check to be sure without the mag in.
