Old Rugers are worth having though.
Shoot I just bought this "plastic" gun and it was made in 1960....wonder how that fits in.

I'm as open-minded as anybody but I know what I

prefer. I prefer wood and steel over plastic, AC/DC over Nickelback, and real boobs over silicone.
Not liking plastic on guns does not equate with a rejection of all things modern

Right, you follow up and say its a 'preference', however your post called them crap. We could care less if your preference runs to old, heavy, and low-cap. But to call all modern wood-less weapons 'crap' is simply disingenuous.

"Ruger is making more plastic junk these days than anybody else. Innovative? Nope. Just cheaper crap."

I myself prefer brunettes, so therefore following the logic train all blondes are ugly...

I 'prefer' non-crotchety thinkers who embrace technology and realize a good thing when they see it. Doesn't mean you are crap. Just a preference.

Its ok, I reckon Glock will somehow scrape by without the grey-beard crowd buying into their wares More hi-cap infallible weapons for the rest of us

There's some pretty amazing stuff out there.

Some of it even fixes itself.

Can I get some of that self-fixing plastic for my front fender?

My little cheap, slick .380 for concealed purposes (if ever needed for such).

I bought a Keltec but hated the trigger and other plastic stuff. I highly recommend the Bersas if you like good feeling little guns.

I like it because I can get that frame 22lr, and it is the closest thing to a ppk.

Mine was a Christmas present from Mrs Shady about 12 years ago. I got to go to Bob Wards Sporting Goods with her and pick it out. Was right inbetween the Ruger and the Smith. I knew the Smith was smoother, but the Ruger was tougher.

I can make tough smoother, but I can't make smooth tougher. Took the Ruger. I've put a lot of rounds through that wheelgun too, and love it.

Gawd, Bob Wards! I remember going in there when I was in college at U of M back in the late 60s!! I'd drool over the guns that I could not afford to buy. Is it still in operation? If so, they must not be at their old location anymore.

I keep a 3" stock SP101 in my truck. I just used it yesterday to dispatch a road-hit deer near Bigfork. The asshat teenagers who'd hit it were trying to finish it off with a frickin' Swiss Army knife and botching the job badly. I like the SP, a very rugged, utilitarian, serviceable handgun. I recommend them to new shooters all the time.

Mine......looks like millions of others, but it is mine! :)
