I can see that if one wants a serroius 1911 22, but most who buy them only buy them as a toy or a training aid, and for that, the GSG is fine, even great.

I still figure you can't go wrong with a 22/45. Ugly enough, but still looks like a new gun after having run 4 or 5 bricks of ammo through it.

Didn't want to burst his bubble....and the fact it ISN'T a 1911 so is moot for this conversation.

Basic newbie question.
I bought a 9mm S&W automatic today. Nice deal, with a ballistic nylon holster, and 50 rounds, about $400 including tax.
My first real, useable pistol. Seems like a heavy bugger. If I put the holster and pistol on my belt, my pants fall down! I guess I need to wear a second belt? (That's the newbie question.) |

It'll help prevent the sag. Ballistic nylon holsters are cheap, but I suggest in investing in a better one. Like a hybrid style.

Ain't that the truth! Great little .22 handgun, but taking it apart to put in a few "slicked up" trigger parts had me cursing! I'll never do that again! If I need to deep clean the thing, I'll take off the grips and spray it down with Pro Tech, then blow it out with my air compressor and hit it with some Rem Oil.

The 13 YO boy built this (with some coaching) in the garage Sat afternoon- (sorry, no "Before" pics, just "after.")
Intended for rimfire stuff- it had some dowels for tennis balls stuck on, cans, lots of golf tees for balls and paintballs- an old 1/4 metal plate I found was wired up on the left- ![]() Had it all set up at at 35-40 yards, and (paintballs neatly placed)- and the dipstick unloads the first round at the steel plate- with his .243 .![]() Note the hole, stage right - all the neatly lined up painballs scattered like chickens (at a public hillside range, so we have to wait for a while to call a halt to the action to reset)The rest of the paint was neatly (and intentionally) peeled off with 38gr HP winchester stuff. Not bad for a 6mm 100 spire point boat tail, Hogdon BL-C(2)- the exit wound ![]() Not a bad evening.
