[QUOTE=FPGT72;19489649]True....but it all depends on you....I just can't warm up to the AR platform....I liked them fine till about 10yrs or so ago...then you know what happend....I have one, bone stock 1990's vintage colt. It just does nothing for me....far too many "experts" out there wanting to give me advice, change this, put that on...STFU and go away. They have just killed the fun of shooting this gun for me...so it stays in the back of the safe....last time it was shot my son shot it at a high power match....I bet I have not shot it in 5 years.

Funny because when that happened to me the first times out to the three gun competitions, after beating all the super trick AR guns and AR owners my stock Olympic Arms AR stayed stock and they all shut their pie holes about trying to get me to do a bunch of unnecessary crap to my AR. Same thing happened when I whooped all them with a Norinco Hawk 982 870 clone! They thought I had a Vang Cop or something when I beat the best guy by 4 seconds on the shotgun course and when I said it was a box stock Hawk 982, the next comp a bunch showed up with them.......It isn't always the gun, it is usually the loose nut behind the gun.

I think the same thing has been said about riding motorcycles. Bling that bike out till it cost five time what a new one does or just ride it and become a better rider. Choice is yours.

Sweet. You'll enjoy it. I got one for my girlfriend on Mother's Day, only hers doesn't have the octagonal barrel, and she loves it.

I ordered some new grips from Alumagrip and sent them out for engraving. This is a Springfield EMP .40

Sweet! How do you like the EMP? I have one in 9x19, bought it about 4 years back, haven't shot it a huge amount, but probably have 700 rounds through it, and it's been perfectly reliable and accurate and pleasant to shoot.

A CCW BBQ gun!! Sort of an oxymoron, but I like it!!

I've considered getting some stag/antler grips for mine. I have an old SA 1911 from the early 90s which I pimped some years ago, and like the look. I used this gun in competition a fair bit, it has been worked on some although some of the work I did myself (like cutting the dovetails by hand with a file for the front and rear sights, a chore I'll never undertake again prior to Hell icing over) and it's a good shooter:

I always take option A on that one.
Which explains why I have a new daniel defense AR coming and the RRA one in the safe still only has 50 rounds through it.

I love a henry, now go out and get some Aguila .22 super colibri rounds for it, they are not much louder than a finger snap and travel 500fps.

They really are not recomended for barrels longer than 15 inches but I shoot them out of henry and Marlin 39a all the time with no problem.

you can shoot rabbits in your back yard all day long and your neighbors will know nothing about it.

WTF? 1200$ for a Winchester 30:30? Okay so I'm looking for a good 1911 without breaking the bank. I'm in Canada so some aren't available to me. Ideas? My budget is about a K. Thanks

Rock Island Armory.

Spend the rest on ammo.
