There isn't a whole lot written about it. It came into being a little over 100 years ago in Germany, back before WWI when they still had some colonies in Africa, for African game. It was rimmed for use in single-shot and double rifles. Not as potent as a 375H&H, but not too far shy of that.

There are a great many "internet experts" and this guy is one of them. While I am sure that there are some things he knows some of what he talks about, there are a great many areas where he does not know his ass from a hole in the ground.

This goes through armor. And through the victim, through the wall, through a tree outside...

I have the P238 and it isn't any where near what I'd call snappy, pretty soft actually. It's actually really accurate for such a little bugger.
How many in the mag!

First hunt I ever went on in Germany was with a 9.3. It was a loaner from an older Jaeger. You hunt with anything smaller than a .30-06 over there and they frown upon you. They barely let me by with a .270.

I shot a 50lb Rehwild with that rifle. Talk about overkill...

During WWII, the Luftwaffe issued a Sauer drilling that was 16X16 ga. with the rifle barrel 9.3X74R. It was intended to be a survival gun.

Holy crap! Survival? Sheesh!

Give me a lightweight carbine and a revolver or pistol.

Maybe that was for Luftwaffe pilots flying missions for the Afrika Korps! Or up in northern Scandanavia where polar bears might become interested in a downed pilot.

That would be a seriously cool gun!
