Afraid you are out of luck.....pretty much dried up everywhere. We have a local PNW based gun website and there are tons of WTB ads for ARs. Private parties and selling what was a $95 lower receiver for over $300 and getting it! I have an in with a manufacturer in FL and am getting 4 lowers soon.....I hope

There have been several articles about the evil gun lobby paid for by the evil gun manufacturers and to "follow the money" when it comes to "lack" of gun legislation. Another article on S&W stock being down - one fund dumped it's holdings in S&W earlier this year, and the stock market has dumped them because they think gun legislation is coming.

If anything the *threat* of gun legislation makes a bunch of people go out and buy up firearms, magazines and ammo - driving up prices.

Over the last couple of years I have noticed that ARs had come down in price - some decent full rifles in the neighborhood of $600 when you couldn't touch them for twice that years before.

I might buy an AR rifle just to have the platform because there are so many different uppers you can get for them. Not sure how compatible some of the brand names are with various uppers. I was thinking of getting the SIG piston gun (not a real fan of the DI guns). I want one with a flat-top upper so I can put a scope on it easily.

Demand/prices were up but they went into overdrive over the weekend as the anti-gun nazis went on the offensive and pro-gun advocates and politicians didn't/couldn't defend it.

It's not just ARs either, I've been listing an XD-9SC for about a month now, and sticking to my price as everyone tried to lowball me. Monday a guy said, "I'll take it." and drove all down from ATL to get it. Same with a bunch of USGI AR mags that sold in less than a day. Drove by the local gun shop (at 10 PM) and the place was still crowded.

It's good to be a seller in a panic.

But arrrggghhh.....package went AWOL for two freaking days, then showed up a few minutes ago, back in Denver. Probably some asshole coded it to RTS which means another couple weeks waiting, by which time the background check will take another 7 days, so I might shoot this thing by Feb, 2013.

The Magpul 30 rnd Pmags that used to sell at $13 are sold out everywhere at $30+

any AR platform rifle in the area is gone-

Visited several shops this AM, all sold out between Mon and Tues AM. All on hand stock gone within 36 hrs

I was gonna say that all my magazines hold six shots in a circle, but I just took delivery of my new Sig and it holds 15

have a 10mm to .40 conversion barrel arriving any day now and went into the local shop for some cheap ammo.......this is a shop that always has ammo even when it's nowhere to be found......the stories are true and I have seen it firsthand now. Parking lot was a mess with everyone double parked. Line was 10 deep at all times. Ammo shelves were almost empty. All high-capacity magazines for anything popular were gone. Everything biggger than a .22 that takes a magazine and is semi-auto is gone........almost every full-size hi-cap handgun that isn't a $1k Sig was gone. One of the guys said this was his last stop as he had been to every gun shop in the area and it's the same story

Went on base on to go to the gun shop there.....arrived just in time to see some tool buy a tactical mini-14 with rails all over it....then got a light for it and an eotech and extra magazines and 2k rounds of ammo......the sales guy said he was out $3k
