I pocket carry a Kel-Tec P3AT a few days a week, and I've never had an issue. A double action trigger is safe enough on its own. I even clip it on the waistband of my running shorts without an issue.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

I went to the shop the other day to buy a Ruger American in 308. Had decided it would do. I lust after the Gun Site though... Side by side were the Gun Site and American. I spent 40 mins picking them up and putting them down. The American never felt quite right in my hands the Gun Site felt perfect. I left with the cash in my pocket and will go back with my New Years Eve money and buy the Gun Site. It seems like the right thing to do!!

The magazine is a bit of a challenge to load but once you get the hang of it it goes okay.

My good buddy Jimbo bought one the day I did and he feels the same way about his.

Just one more thing to "do" in an emergency situation. IMHO, YMMV, etc....

I have several small CC type hand guns, of them, the S&W 380 Bodyguard is the only one with an external safety. I like the gun but hate the safety and never use it, actually I'm thinking of removing it so it is never accidentally left in the safe position, I don't see a need for it. I'm thinking about getting a Kahr PM9 and if I do I'll get the PM9093 w/out the external safety not the PM9193. IMHO an external safety on a CC handgun is not needed, my wife on the other hand carries a Beretta or a S&W Bodyguard because they have an external safety. Personal preference I guess, so if you are asking why, you probably don’t need one.

That's how I was leaning but figured I'd ask the question. The pull is so long on these double action semis that I don't see a need for a safety.

As long as you're using a proper holster.

You need to remove that VFG off of your pistol NOW, unless it is a stamped SBR. The only legal way to use a VFG on a pistol is if it has an overall length of over 26" (then it is classified as a "firearm"). Otherwise it is an AOW and you won't want to spend 10 years in the fed.

I'd also delete that photo from any hosting site you have.

Just a friendly warning

That is real nice. I just sold my AR (before the hysteria) unfortunately for me and am looking for Marlins in both 30-30 and .357 calibers. I think it will feel more natural carrying those around the ranch, than an AR. I rarely need to take a shot beyond 150 yards anyway.

How dumb of a move would selling/trading a 1911 for an AR be right now?

It would depend on the details. You can still find some deals on AR's but parts are scarce. You really need to do your homework so you don't overpay. Prices will hopefully drop in a few months as it has in the past. It will pick up again once people freak out when AW bills start appearing though.

Probably really dumb. I can't imagine the Ar owner would not want to use current panic pricing. Hell, I'm thinking of unloading the AR I just got for a nice bolt gun due to the fact that three weeks ago, the bolt gun was twice as much as my AR, and I could probably make an even trade this week.
