None. Ok, i'll just pick up some 90GR 380 Fiocchi's since they have a rounded head and I wanted to try them in the Sig since I think the flat headed ammo is getting stuck on the feed ramp and causing the jamming issue. None. Ok, screw it, i'll go home and order it online. None. Out of stock everywhere. I'm beginning to wonder if it will ever get back to normal.

If there was any positive to the trip though, is that I got to check out the Springfield XDS .45 a little. I would love to shoot it as i'm looking for a compact .45 now that I dont trust the Sig P238. Eh, i'll do some more homework.
Really sucks big time. I was on Cabela's today. No 9 MM Luger, no .308 except top tier hunting loads. No .22 at all - they don't even have listing for them anymore! Not even backorder options.

It's just beyond stupid, since no one has called to restrict ammo sales. This is just panic stupidity driving up the price for the respectible shooters.

Ugh. What a lousy time to rekindle my love for shooting.

One has to wonder if the supply of ammo is being artifically controlled now.

The I LOVE THIS GUN Thread

I had a business trip last week that took me from NC to PA and back. I decided to check every Wally World store I saw for .45 ACP, 5.56 & 9mm. None had what I needed. Finally, in Kennett Square, PA, I found two boxes of .45 and grabbed them. Thank goodness they were 250 round boxes. I paid $108 each for them. The last time I purchased 250 round of the same cost $90 and that was about six weeks ago.

Damn, you got a beauty! I didn't see anything that nice when my son and I visited Camp Perry during Xmas break. They did you right.

This morning I installed an adjustable gas plug on my son's. Not because I want to shoot commercial ammo, just because I want to adjust the action so it doesn't throw the brass so far. 30-06 brass is expensive enough that I want to retrieve every piece of it for reloading.

The I LOVE THIS GUN Thread

Here are my JMB pieces:

Top to bottom: Les Baer Custom Carry, Colt Officers Model (highly modified), Browning Hi-Power (Belgium)

My dad, a US Army medic at the Battle of Luzon, brought back this 8mm Nambu:

Dad recalls taking it from a wounded Japanese lieutenant. The holster appears to be a cut-down US issued model for a 1911. The grips were altered, perhaps with aircraft plexiglass and there photos of American girls were inserted. Time and mold are taking their toll on the photos, as you can see. I fear this weapon has a grim history.

Does CMP ship directly to you or through an FFL dealer?

Went to a local Wally World on the off chance they might have some pistol ammo...and a long held suspicion was confirmed. While they had some, they have placed a 3 box limit on ammunition purchases. They did this because a local gun--the largest private gun seller in the area--store was sending employees into walmarts and cleaning them out of 9mm, .40, .45, .223 & .308...then they were marking up prices & reselling. The 9mm HP ammo Wal mart sold for 13.97 per 20 (I think)...they were marking up $10.00.

This same store was selling $15.00 Pmags for $60.00 I knew the owner was a douche, but he certainly won't be getting my money ever again. I'll jump on the KLR and travel to Columbia to PSA, or to one of the other local shops from now on. Not saying that people aren't stupid for freaking out and buying everything in sight, but to buy up all the reasonably priced ammo and stick it to everyone is just low.

Picked up some buckshot and 2 boxes of Winchester white box .40 jhp.

watched "the world at war" this morning, episode 22/23/24 whatever, either 'the pacific' or 'japan' episodes, and it showed a clip of an island hopping marine with a garand definately on full auto, but either i dont remember seeing it or his left arm covered whether it had a box mag or not (filmed from his left side)

You probably saw him firing a BAR, the only full auto service rifle issued at that time.
