Well, up to Tula, I had not found an ammo too cheap for the Hi Power to eat.

I was having problems loading them in the mags and I suspect that they had a wierd bullet ogive and were possibly a bit too long. Also, those cheap steel cases don't slide all that well either. I guess I am suprised I had as few problems as I did.

I've shot at least 800 rounds at this point. I don't think it's rated for plus P loads. It's a lovely piece, but it's not perfect either - but I like the way it works well enough.

Yep, Hi-Powers are really great guns, and one of the most comfortable to hold and shoot, but in my experience they really don't like to be fed hot loads.

With mine, loads that worked fine in my S&W 59, Springfield P9C, and several Glocks all showed excessive pressure signs when fed to three different Hi-Powers, and accuracy suffered as well.

I've seen that situation at the range. Wasn't Tula, though. Some off brand, probably high volume reloads of some sort. I'll look for a picture I took of it.

Looks like a reloading screwup. Probably a case full of Bullseye or 231.

Are you familiar with the Hungarian made FEG, P9R? I have one and love it. Copy of the Hi-power with the features you ask for. It will digest anything I feed it. Fit and finish is very good. The only drawback I can find is that it wont accept Hi-power magazines. I do believe Hi-power mags may be modified to work. Heres a link, I hope it works.

Just a couple of photos of my ATI's Both are great guns and real tackdrivers. The Military has a few thousand rounds through it now without a single hiccup. The Titan has around 400 or so rounds through it. I'll put a few hundred more rounds through it before it becomes my EDC.

Great pistols for the money.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a 10 round magazine for a S&W 59. (normal is 14 Rd.)

CT is proposing a 10 round magazine maximum and giving people till Oct. 1st to get rid of their "illegal" stuff if it passes. I'd like to be able to keep this pistol, because it was the first I ever bought. 1979.

CT rated the worst state to retire in, financially.

I have a friend who lives in VA that I will mail my stock mags to if the law becomes a reality.

I sent emails to all my reps and the gov yesterday. Hope it helps.

A spring swap? Would be easier to convert your old mags to 10 rnds then to toss them and buy new mags. What about mag parts? Does CT allow for keeping magazine parts? If so then disassemble them.

even better. I was just fiddling with my stock mags and they pop apart without any tools. Never looked before. The law was just proposed last night by the Gov. It hasn't been introduced to legislature yet. Just figuring ahead of the curve. Hope cooler heads prevail, but NY just did it, so it's likely here.

Rusty, depending on the wording of the law you might be able to do what pump / semi auto shot gunners do. Put a small block in the mag to prevent loading more than the state mandated number of rounds. If the law does not recognize the modification however you are better off moving or sending them to a friend in a state that recognizes the constitution.

Nice gun and good price, I purchased my cz75p07 in november becuase I wanted a DA/SA decocker, I just feel more comfortable with it. I love the hp and the history it has. I read no gun has seen more combat than the hp, even sadam carried one. British army just retired it. The quality of the cz has impressed me too.
